Etcher keeps giving me a warning that writing an os image to my sd card will wipe my hard drive. WTF?!

I just want to write the image to the card, but it's putting my system at risk. What gives? I wanted to use dd, but the same thing could happen and there wouldn't be any warning. Why does this happen? I am kinda embarrassed, I've never had to do this before (that is, I was on windows when I did).

I don't wanna risk my current system.

They changed the UI a while back... I got confused and stuck for like an hour. Hopefully it's just that.

It thinks the sd card is part of my computer, but it's not. In any case, I got it burned to the card and my current system is okay. Mission accomplished!

if you don't understand how dd would not put your main drive at risk, unless you are a total sperg, then you shouldn't be playing with this stuff!

why not image your system, then test it?

Meh, after I'm done with this, I'm buying a droplet on digital ocean to play with.

WoeUSB-ng is way better
