Do not corrupt who you are to become who you are not.

Do not lie to get what is not yours.

Yes accept what you have cause reaching and aiming for goals of things you don't have is to hard. /s

Not everything an old guy says is always wise.

The quote isn't saying that at all. The quote is saying not to take what you already have, for granted, because the grass is always greener. Go ahead and strive, go for the gold, but appreciate what you have. If you don't appreciate what you have now, when will you ever? You will always want what you cannot have, and even after obtaining what you've dreamed of, it will not be enough for you - there will be something else you want, and that old thing you wanted for is no longer important or as valuable to you as it once was. This is the full quote:

“Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.”

Philosophy is about each persons interpretation, so you telling people they r wrong is pretty dumb.

This is how the quote is generally interpreted and understood by others if you look the quote up lol. It's not like it's a chaotic piece of art with no explanation behind it.

But you're right, you're free to interpret anything in any way you want, it is your life.
