It's always hilarious to me when Boomer conservatives call credit card company whores like Nancy Pelosi 'a communist'. China isn't even really communist anymore.

No, they are very Capitalist these days. Was talking about this just today in s/politics actually. Still it's a little frightening how certain words become synonymous with 'any bad guy' and lose all their real meaning to a majority of people.

I am really annoyed by the Republican sinophobia (seen on this site as much as anywhere else) by people who don't know anything about China. About 20% of Chinese people call themselves libertarians. I correspond with many Chinese people, and they are far more informed and open minded than the bigoted, tribal, oblivious Americans so confident in their superiority.

China has a smaller, weaker, more decentralized government than the USA both per capita and absolutely. The patriotards are completely unjustified in their assertions of MURICA FIRST, but I suppose being a flaggot and a dumbass go together.

Yeah you are 100% correct, and it is frustrating. I am attempting to have empathy for these people - Americans are bombarded with a huge amount of propaganda and misinformation, so I'm not totally surprised that people get their facts messed up. At the same time, some of us have managed to untangle some of this, and the people lacking critical thinking probably are doing enormous harm to us with their ignorance.

Most people are simply too dumb and uncritical to have any valid epistemic reasons for holding opinions on most things, they should just shut up. But Dumbocracy works by politicizing the least and the dumbest to vote based on their tribal identity and feelings, and ends up corrupting all of social discourse in the process. Most people have zero epistemic right to political, economic or social opinions, they know nothing and are too stupid, bigoted and lazy to learn when they should. Democracy is cultural cancer.

I think you are getting at something important here, and I honestly don't know how to feel about it....

Yes, mob rule by the idiot masses is pretty insane, and I agree, the vast majority of people have no right to their opinions, because they can't even think them through. I am quite sympathetic to this, and think there is a lot of truth here. A big part of me has no sympathy for the masses, and at some level they deserve their exploitation by the elites.

But heres where I struggle... I worry about this tendency to be OK with exploitation, because the Elites, in their lack of caring, are perfectly OK with exploiting and doing wrong to people like you and me, who HAVE coherent beliefs, and don't deserve that treatment. How do we stop our sense of superiority over the masses from leading to this psychopathy where thinking people us have to suffer the harms.

I'm a little torn on this, and I don't think I've got it all figured out yet.

If you want to get on MeWe I can give you a couple of works that give some answers, ebooks and some documents written by a friend of mine in the UK

Sorry to double respond here, wanted to ask you a question.

Do you not share my concerns about the elites? Do you have some plan to determine who is worthy of representation? How would we do that?

You seem like a thoughtful and rational person, and I am genuinely curious. I share your views on the masses but have some concerns, and am curious to see if I am missing something here, or if you have some take on this I haven't thought of

As elites are inevitable the only question is the incentives you present them with. I believe that radical decentralization, corporative society, presumption of liberty, something like a hereditary aristocracy and laissez-faire economy are the best method of ensuring that the elites are tied to the population they exercise influence over, are held responsible and compete vigorously to prevent them from forming a cartel of power against everyone else. Something like the Holy Roman Empire plus more libertarian laws is about my ideal social system, a vast array of independent and overlapping jurisdictions to allow great variety and strong interests for the elite to preserve local autonomy. How to get there is a big question, though if you believe William S. Lind (Fourth Generation Warfare) and Martin Van Creveld (The Rise and Decline of the State) we are right now witnessing the transfer of loyalty from centralized bureaucracy to non state actors like Hezbollah and other institutions. While this may be messy I believe it's ultimately for the best.

I have no idea if it's possible to send messages on here, but do you have an account at Mewe.com? I have some groups on there dedicated to political and social analysis that go beyond the Normie libertarian and tribal narratives that I think you might be interested in. If not, they're free so if you want to sign up there I can give you a link to my profile and I will send you invites to them.

Yeah absolutely, would love to discuss these ideas more. Hard to find people who can have a coherent conversation about these things. Also really interested in these ideas, our concerns and beliefs are a lot more closely aligned than I would have guessed.

Just created an account on mewe. 'Nathan Hencky'

Don't worry about it, I often have ten thoughts on short order and have a whole list of sperg comments one after the other. I am elated to talk to someone on here who isn't obsessed with social signaling and repeating muhNAP to every question. Normie libertarians are just as tedious as socialists sometimes.
