It is time the world realizes the Summer Olympics in Tokyo must be canceled or postponed. The risk of a million participants, officials and spectators assembling in a country where there are already hundreds of coronavirus cases are too potentially catastrophic. However, the modified games can still be presented this summer by dividing up the sports and events and having “safe venues” host and sponsor them: locales that can monitor and control any outbreaks, welcome the athletes of one aspect of the games and televise their competition to the world.
Cleveland! You must champion the proposal above! If you endorse the plan, select the sport or one facet of a sport. There is much to converse about. Start by seeking the opinions of The Plain Dealer and cleveland.com sports writers who may also see the danger of congregating in a city already beset by coronavirus cases.
Then bombard the internet and social media with our plan!
