She was exclusively with women before, she wasn't exclusively a lesbian. The issue I have is with this isn't so much that she misidentified that she was a lesbian, people figuring themselves out can make mistakes. Although the bit about her making out with dudes is frustrating. But the part that irritates me more is she doesn't say she used to identify as a lesbian, and now realizes she was bisexual, she says she was a lesbian.

Yeah, this is my biggest gripe with it too. It gives the vibe that this guy "turned" her, which feeds into conversion therapy rhetoric. People are allowed to be bisexual, and I'm sure many kinsey 5.5s genuinely think they're lesbians until they're incidentally attracted to a man one time. But that means you were never a lesbian - guess that doesn't sound provocative and shocking enough though. "I used to be a lesbian until I met this one guy who rocked my world" is such a straight male fantasy, while "I didn't realise I was bisexual until I was in my late 20s" isn't really

She needed that catchy title for all that sweet reddit karma.

What does she mean by "it's a tale as old as time?"

Meeting Mr right trumps lesbianism.
