lol, no. The (mainstream) media only accuses mainstream social media of not censoring ENOUGH. The main talking point in the media is how social media aren't censoring dissident voices enough and do not delete enough "hate speech" and "Russian disinformation."

You didn’t even read the post. I said at the very least AfterEllen should be receptive. Really annoying annoying and not helpful response.

Any website that reported positively on Keira Bell or Abigail Shrier would probably be interested and respond positively.

That's a good point! I was surprised how much positive/neutral media coverage I saw of Keira Bell's win.

I agree this is worth looking into. You might get more traction if you post on s/lgbdropthet.

I would also recommend AfterEllen, as well as u/fuckupaddams 's suggestion about reaching out to places that published on Abigail Shrier and the Keira Bell judgment. My biggest concern about doing so myself is that I am not out and couldn't be quoted in a newspaper; also am not in the UK and most interested non-fringe publications are probably in the UK at this point in time.

edit: Also if you wanted help with organizing material about homophobia from trans people and actuallesbians, I'd love to help.

You can try but it probably won't go very far. Most legitimate news sources that would otherwise be on our side would likely just ignore you because all the focus right now is on validating trans delusions to look woke.

I tried when r/TL got banned. No dice.

This is not the same. You should try again.

I was gonna say this wouldn't work but, after a quick google search, I think this could work. R/biologicallesbians was not transphobic by any means but, any story about r/BL will have the sub labelled as a TERF sub. AfterEllen's already been branded a "TERF" website. I don't think another story that would have them labelled "TERF" would phase them. The CEO of the site even leaned into it and called herself "the Terf-in-Chief of AfterEllen".

If you gather together any screenshots or archived pages of r/BL before the ban (this includes the sub rules and anything that clearly stated that: tran women were welcome but, the sub's focus was to be on "cis" women), screenshots or pages of people calling it a hate sub, and write a compelling cover letter expressing why you think AfterEllen should write an article about it, then this could work.

You could probably do that now actually. Make another post titled something like "R/BL Data Compilation for AfterEllen". This way, anyone who has any additional information or anyone who wants to help, has a place to go/send their info. Everyone else would be able to look over things if they want and give their two cents on if they think anything is necessary, unecessary, missing, or complete.

Additional info: If you want to show the hypocrisy on reddit you should also get information on the subs that were banned vs the ones that are still up. I also recommend getting statements from the mods of r/TL and r/BL, if you can, to prove that these two subs were made independently from one another and not an attempt at ban evasion.

These are some great ideas and I'd definitely be interested in that sort of post.

I think approaching AfterEllen is a good idea. You might even want to ask if they accept articles from freelancers and, if so, you could suggest writing the article yourself.

The one thing I strongly advise against is taking this to any right-wing media outlet.

Absolutely! If you have the money, you can get anything published. Depending on the monthly views and DA, the price can range from $14.00 to $5000.00 depending on the website. You can choose various countries such as the U.S., U.K, Denmark, Mexico, India, and Canada, and more!

For this, I'd highly recommend approaching Christian or conservative, moderate news sites or sites that will publish anything for money.

You can even advertise a post on Reddit. Reddit, like most companies, follow the trends of money. You can promote a post, an image, or even a video. You can choose various sub reddits to advertise on. It would be quite ironic to advertise Reddit discrimating against lesbians though.

Also r/biologicallesbians could have remained if they were private. So one could argue Reddit isn't discriminating against lesbian subs, just lesbians subs that publicly go against the terms of agreement.

Now a good argument is for Reddit to be okay with subs like r/blackpeopletwitter that literally have an aunthencation method to prove one is black yet cislesbian subs have to be private just to be on the site.

ETA: What you should do is bring attention to the under age/kiddie porn users upload on the various pornsubs. There are hundreds of post of user finding their little sister or brothers nude images on various subs and nothing happens. Go after the sex. Go after the sexual offenders and sex related subs.

wait I'm lost. How did r/BL go against the terms of agreement?

A sub can not be made in place of another sub that was banned.

I am unsure if the MODS of that sub argued their case or not. They could have and lost.

[–]Hydiee 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

but r/BL had nothing to do with r/TL. And as far as I could tell, the mods of r/BL were very young and very "Transwomen are women"

[–]SailorMoon2020 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That is for them to argue to Reddit as they have the option to do.
