Who's idea was it to pick this wanker of a movie? Come on, November. I got some suggestions!

Okay, SailorMoon2020 (I love your name and I love Sailor Moon!),

Jennifer's Body is the most hilarious horror movie parody (I think it's a parody? I hope anyway) I've ever seen. Its comedy is definitely not for everyone but my god some of the one-liners and banter just kill me.

It's not a movie about men, by men, or for men imo. It's about women, how they play off each other, and how society views them and what it expects of them. It doesn't play into the awful tropes for women in horror movies such as sexualized violence. Instead, it puts Jennifer completely in power, and the only one who is capable of standing up to her is another woman, Needy. I find that to be pretty refreshing. Plus, their scenes together fucking kill me: "Do you buy ALL your murder weapons at Home Depot? God, you're butch." -- "My tit..." "No, your heart..."

Now I'm completely aware that the movie isn't a critical success nor should it be. Its production quality isn't that good, and it's quite frankly insane. But it's fun, it's unique, it's campy, it's a slasher, and it makes me laugh. What a perfect combination. I wish more movies were like this one.

P.S. Hope you gals all have a great Halloween! :)

You’ve described this movie in a way that actually makes me want to see it. I do have a soft spot for Megan Fox, in part because of all of the hypocrisy surrounding how she has been treated in Hollywood.

The movie that made me start to like Megan Fox. Incredibly entertaining, for a ridiculous horror movie.

This was on my halloween watchlist for this year as well!

I enjoyed it and thought it was funny but I think if I had seen it when it came out I would have been obsessed with it/identified with it more. The music really took me back and "I'm not going to teach your boyfriend how to dance with you" was my anthem in high school.

I especially enjoyed Adam Brody as evil Brandon Flowers and a lot of the one liners like "I guess she has sex through her blowhole or something" and "My tit..." I also loved the ending with Needy breaking out of prison and getting revenge as it highlighted how important her relationship with Jennifer was and places the blame of the events of the movie on the band instead of Jennifer.

I also have soft spots for Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried and thought they were both great in this even though their personal lives are a mess haha.
