"The lesbian relationship doesn't end in tragedy or with one half of the couple dead" is my favorite highly specific genres.

Amen to that, or just good writing in general. Give us more portrait of a lady on fire and less things like blue is the warmest color.

True, no one will execute the specific ideas that you could. The issue is, is that my writing is such a part of me, that I fear I would be just too scared to release it into the world, or I would get so sucked up into it that I would have no time for anything else I wish to do.

i want the opposite. all the books i've come across(not read.. just.. come across(i work with books)) have been fantasy books or YA and while i like some YA books, i'm tired of it. i want a regular ass book. some regular fiction. a romcom. a coming of age. an action thriller. something not "weird". and i don't want them to always be white damnit.

I'd love some kafkaesque lesbian shit.

I wish Starbuck on the remake of Battlestar Galactica had been a dyke because she was SUCH A DYKE and i was there for her.

I could stand more lesbian fantasy novels.

I think we need more realism, comedy and drama, as most serious books are all fantasy or sci-fi.

Upon reading the comments, there are tons of books like what others desire. The question is are y'all looking for books of main stream publishers or are y'all also checking books from small publishers and indie ebooks as well?

Mainstream, yes, but ebooks, indie sellers, and small publishers have a wide range of books like the ones many women desire in this thread.

There's a book I'm writing. It's been denied from tons of publishers and who knows how many times I rewrote it. What has changed though is my current career position which has got me connected in public relations (marketing and publicists). The goal is for some press releases and buzz to be generated come October.

The main character of the book, I would like her to be gay when she gets older. Also want her to do something that if done in the books will cause a hell of a lot of controversy among the potential fan base.

So... can you point me to a good lesbian space opera novel? I need it in my life so bad.

I'm reading Gideon the Ninth, which is set in a world so strange I honestly don't know if it's a space opera or not. There are multiple planets though, so...? Anyways its good.

Thank you, I'll definitely check it out!

Sadly I don’t really know of one myself, but I know there are stashes of literary recommendations of lesbian storylines in general somewhere amongst members. I know I saved a few, but none are Lesbian space operas.
