I haven't found a lesbian one that I could stomach (they all ended up being very 'TWAW and you're horrible if you don't like penis') but for non-lesbian ones:

My Dad Wrote a Porno - my go to podcast recommendation - a Northern Irishman in his 50s attempted to write erotica and gave it to his son to read, who reads a chapter per week with his friends. Pretty much every woman is bisexual so there is a lot of 'sex' but the author clearly does not understand how women's bodies work. They finished book five last year and, though it feels disjointed for the first few books it will all start coming together.

No Such Thing as a Fish - made by some of the people who write QI. Each week they each bring a fact about a topic My current favourite fact from the show - the morning alarm on Mir was the same as the low oxygen alarm to make sure the astronauts got up straight away.

The Secret World of Slimming Clubs - three friends laughing (initially) about attending Slimming World (similar to Weight Watchers.) Very funy women, good backlog of episodes.

The Trail Went Cold - a true crime podcast about missing people, John/Jane Does and unsolved murders. I went off a lot of TC podcasts that I used to listen to because they became all about the hosts egos and it felt insulting to the victims but the host of TTWC does actually seem to care and he approaches each episode in a very respectful way.

Delicious factoid! Was it in Gravity that George Clooney's character boasted to Sandra Bullock that he knows where the Russians hide the Vodka on ISS? Sadly he died in the film, so we never found out. Or did we? I need to re watch! 😄

I've been listening to PANTS with Kate Moennig and Leisha Hailey, they just sort of ramble on about whatever, but I grew up on the L word so I have a fondness for them.

Did you used to watch The Liz Feldman show on YT? She used to invite Kate and other L Word ppl on. She was funny too. A little hardcore on the comedy flirting, but funny! I miss it.

So I listened to the newest PANTS podcast on my way to work today, and lo and behold, Liz Feldman was the guest LOL. They allude that she and Kate were "smitten" with each other when they met, and talk about her youtube show. Rather serendipitous!

Wow - thanks for the tip! I'm getting on that podcast now and settling in for some cosy reminiscing :)

Edit: Omg this podcast is such a gift. They play off each other so well! The fact that they are good friends brings a lot. Thanks again!

I totally forgot about her, lol! I think she has a great sense of humor, but I felt generally a little turned off by the constant flirting as you mentioned but she is pretty sharp and actually does a good interview when she isn't being creepy.

So well summarised!

Despite some of the awkward or downright silly attempts at representation, the community that was built around the show was a great comfort at the time. :)

Daniel and Jorge Explain The Universe. A physicist and comic discuss things like black holes, quantum mechanics, time travel.

This sounds interesting.

Hardcore History, it's super good if you're interested in, well, history! It's very well researched and in depth about every subject discussed. Doesn't skip over any of the less palatable details, so if you don't have a strong stomach I wouldn't recommend it, however I have a morbid fascination with that sort of stuff. A specific podcast I'd recommend is Painfotainment Blitz. Long but worth it.

I like true story serials, or those based on a true story. For example:

Dirty John (true crime story about a compulsive lying sociopath who manipulates a successful middle-aged businesswoman in Southern California.

Fake Heiress (part-acted, part narrated, and part real commentary from people involved about the story of the fake New York-based socialite Anna Delvey/Anna Sorokin. It really picks up once she moves to the U.S.)

The Dropout (about Elizabeth Holmes, the young wannabe tech genius founder behind Theranos, the instant pinprick blood test valued at $10 billion . . . Except that it was a sham that didn’t work.)

Believed (about the victims of Larry Nassar, the U.S.A. Gymnastics and Michigan State University doctor that sexually abused hundreds, if not more, young female gymnasts, including every single member of the Fierce Five, the 2012 Olympic gold medal winning team).

If anyone has any recommendations of other series like these, let me know!

This Podcast Will Kill You--about diseases, disease ecology, and epidemiology, hosted by two scientist women, both named Erin. One is definitely straight--or at least, not lesbian--but the sexuality of the other is unclear. Regardless, it's an amazing podcast, particularly since they go very in depth about COVID... although, if you start from the beginning, they started this podcast a few years ago, and it's really weird hearing them talk about the potential for pandemics before any of this stuff went down.

I'm currently listening to Popular Volcanics (yes, I'm a science geek). Joe Rogan's podcast is also good.
