Here two threads focused on books:

https://saidit.net/s/Lesbians/comments/5sk7/looking_for_new_good_lesbian_shows_movies_or_books/

https://saidit.net/s/Lesbians/comments/5ecs/lesbian_books/

There was another thread of foreign lesbian books but couldn't find it. A couple of books I'd add to the list:

The Lies We Tell

Passing For Black

After Dorloas (contains female/female rape)

Herself When She's Missing

Babyji (contains female/female rape)

The books I named I don't believe I suggested yet in the two other threads. They are WLW books regardless of the sexual orientation of the characters.

Thanks for the links. And here's the one on books in other languages

And for the French speakers there's a great book that came out recently: La Petite Dernière by Fatima Daas. She's from a muslim family in France and the book reflects her experience growing up gay. It's also prefaced by the powerhouse that is Virginie Despentes, so it must be good :)

Edit: a word

Aww one of our other moderators who is no longer moderating compiled it. If no one has it. I do hope people throw in some good suggestions!

I just finished reading The Tyrant Baru Cormorant. Gosh, not only it's a marvelous book series, but Baru is so unapologetically lesbian. I am honestly surprised it's written by a man, since it's so real and relatable. She might be my favourite character in any media alongside with Ellie from The Last of Us 2.

I actually have a small archive from TL and I think this was one I nabbed before it went down. I’d need to dig it out but I haven’t figured out how to do that just yet.

You might be able to full grab copies of the past thread from looking at r/TrueLesbians captures on webpage archives!

How do you do this?

The most popular internet achive is the Wayback Machine. You plug in the URL of a website and can see what the website looked like at a certain point of time if it was saved. Here's a capture from around a time the book list was stickied.

Sadly it looks like the actual webpage for the thread itself wasn't saved so my advice ended up not helping much. But almost any page that is available for viewing can be saved before it gets taken down!
