I'm really sorry someone actually gave you shit for taking care of your elderly parents. You sound like a wonderful, caring person to me and what they said was jaw-droppingly inexcusable.

You're skirting dangerously close to insulting people, so don't be surprised when someone takes offense. When you use terms like "dead on the inside" about people who may have no choice but put their life on hold because of covid, and then double down by making generalizations about ppl going through incredibly tough experiences like caring for their elderly parents, you don't come across that well at all. If you are a believer in stoicism, no need to disparage those who are not.

If you had any idea what it was like to watch your loved ones get sick and die you would never say this to another person, have some compassion. Wildwoodflower is less sour grapes than you seem to be, sorry to say. That a whole lot of blind assumption to make about someone you don’t know.

I very much enjoyed the playful banter. I think a lot of us need more humour in these trying times. Pity people misunderstood.

Helping mother is not the same as "my co-workers abused me".

putting their life on hold in big ways right now is already dead on the inside. Not interested in them

And then you said that you was putting your life on hold before. So you are just like "those dead inside". Why anyone should ever be interested in you then? By your own logic.

Hating people for something that you are doing or have done yourself - is the worst form of hypocrisy.

As far as I'm concerned, everybody putting their life on hold in big ways right now is already dead on the inside.

That's the loudest "Carpe diem" I've heard in a while lol

Oh well, when I've lost my job to save losers who are just going to go out on 7-10 day vacations to other states anyway, retail employees are posting online saying people like me who lost my job are assholes for getting unemployment and making more than they do like somehow that's my fault, and burger flippers claiming they are better than me because they are considered essential, I'm fucking done. I put my life on hold during the 2008 recession, I put it on hold when I had Lyme Disease, I put it on hold to be abused, I put it on hold for for loser straight people who hate gays, I put it on hold because I didn't want to date tranny-loving lesbians and waited for you all to come around and realize they were horrible people.

I'm done putting my life on hold when the vast majority of you have far looser values and morals than I do.

Hey, more power to you. Just take care of yourself and others out there: them usual precautions, masks and distancing whenever necessary and I hope things take a turn for the better for you. I truly do!

Edit: still wish you well, but also wish you to find a bit more empathy for those you disagree with.

The retail people are wrong to be mad at you, and you are wrong to be mad at them. It's our POS government who fucked everyone over and we should all be mad at them.
