BardFinn is a piece of shit and you reap what you sow. He was so much of an asshole he had people post child porn to subs he didn't like to get them banned. I don't feel bad for him in the slightest.

Live by the doxx, die by the doxx.

I’m generally not a fan of doxxing, but if all you do is bully and doxx people, then you have it coming.

Isn't it the one who doxxed a ton of women?

So if you are doing something to others - be ready that others will do the same to you. Misogyny is built on opposite - you can do something to others and they will never be able to answer back. We have here proverb: "mongrel's death to a mongrel". Which is something similar to a "what you sow is what you reap [and you desrve this]" but about bandits and spoken in more rude way.

I am not supporting ourselves becoming the ones who oppressing us, swapping roles with them. However, I have no sympathy to bandits who are hurt by their own means and tactics.

Who did he doxx? Mind you I don't take huge issue with this given his shit fuckery and complete lack of ethics for.. I don't know what or who ever did anything to him but I can guarantee you it wasn't "terves."

I heard about this when the first wave of bans was happening. Trans take over most subs or make sure there is at least one trans mod so they can police all conversations. It’s lame as hell. Glad we are not there anymore.

Redditors are obsessed with karma in general so they shouldn't be upset when it comes back on them. ;)

I would not participate in the doxxing, and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. However, this individual gets absolutely no sympathy from me, and the likelihood of it is he will only gain an even bigger narcissistic victim complex. I can't help but ask, "what did you think was going to happen?"

[–]yayblueberries 22 insightful - 4 fun22 insightful - 3 fun23 insightful - 4 fun -  (1 child)

I usually don't support doxxing either since it has so often been used against people who didn't even do anything wrong, but TRAs are dangerous to womens' rights and their safety, and I love me some sweet justice.

That's true in part, I don't think I will ever encounter him irl since I live in other parts of the world, but I do keep "in check" TRAs in my area, specially the most lesbophobic ones, you never know when paths cross.

First the whole CP whistleblowing incident and now this.

Is this a confirmed doxx? I don't want to see the doxx but I do want to know if it's legitimate and where this alleged doxx is hosted. (KiwiFarms?)

The post has some sources, I didn't look too much into them, it also posts the names of ex-wives and such. It is here on saidit, I left some key words in my post that could help you find it using the search. I also made a screenshot just in case.

What was the CP whistleblowing incident? I am not really into these stuff, I just know of this guy because he participated so much in kicking us out of reddit.

Explained here: https://mobile.twitter.com/mentalhellcat/status/1288947357393059840

Simply put, he would attack subs by having people go there and infiltrate it and have them post rule breaking things, or worst case literal child porn. Then he would have people report these post that he orchestrated and the sub would get banned.

[–]ghostraider[S] 18 insightful - 3 fun18 insightful - 2 fun19 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

WTF, that is truly awful. I already read in other comment about the child pornography posts (you have to be truly sick to even think about doing this!!). Thanks for the link!

[–]VioletRemi 18 insightful - 1 fun18 insightful - 0 fun19 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

From what I know it is common tactics by 4channers, as I know few sites which were attacked by them with very same tactics.

I think doxxing is wrong, a big problem nowadays to chill free speech and control people andwhat they say.

Buuuuuut considering what this person did, if they doxxed, and not only had child porn but made it a weapon, and tried to shutdown people's spaces, its hard to have sympathy. Would I do it or tell somone else to doxx? No. But I'm not gonna worry about this person really.

[–]knownasness 9 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 2 fun -  (6 children)

i don't understand the big deal about doxxing, personally. when i was a kid, i saw the internet as 'not real' and i treated people in such a way. it completely backfired on me(as it should've), because of course.. people are real. they have real thoughts, feelings, etc. everyone on the internet should act in a way that shows this, but they don't. we've tricked ourselves into thinking being on the internet means we have the right to anonymity and it doesn't. it shouldn't. everyone everywhere should be held accountable for their actions and words, especially if it's directly harmful to people and groups.

back on topic though, fuck bardfinn.

Because then people can stalk you or find a way to harass you on platforms other than reddit. It is a safety issue.

[–][deleted] 11 insightful - 2 fun11 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

They will show up at your home, or the most popular one, try and get you fired. It’s really not the way to go. I wish everyone would stop doing it in general

[–]reluctant_commenter 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Agreed.

[–]knownasness 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

i get that, but people have gotten comfortable with harassing and stalking people BECAUSE of the anonymity. you take that away for everyone, you have considerably less instances of it. but i absolutely understand your point.

[–]Gearbeta 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Can be important in some cases to maintain anonymity such as in cases say where being gay is illegal and punished by death. So having a safe and anonymous space for them is important. And weird shit happens on the internet and has its fair share of crazies so getting your address put out there could mean actual physical danger to you.

[–][deleted] 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yes, but the problem is that everyone thinks they are right, no matter what side they are on. People are not being held up to some universal morality scale that is measuring “wrongdoing” in a way that everyone else has agreed upon, many people who are being doxxed are being hurt by it, horrible people or no.

Losing jobs and stability in the real world does not inspire anyone to change their way of thinking, it makes their lives worse and them double-down on whatever it was that got them “doxxed” to begin with. IMO, it’s the last thing anyone should be doing if we ever want to be able to coexist with those we disagree with again.

I think it’s bad behaviour on all sides.

Bardfin and some of his Reddit co-travelers were profiled by WBUR, an NPR affiliate in Boston. Part of NPR's nonstop paean to transgenders.

Seriously, I'm pretty sure NPR is getting $ from Trans, Inc., but they are way overdoing the transgender love and it's going to irritate their listeners.

A young de-transitioner and his social media pals did an investigation into how BardFin tried to take over r/detrans, the sub for de-transitioners.

Sorry, I don't know how to link, but a web search might find the NPR piece on BardFin.

I also posted the link to the interview NPR did with Bardfin into its own thread, because I'm really dumb and can't figure out how to post a link in a reply...#sad

I don't support doxxing of anyone. I am glad you did not share the post. We will not get anywhere by using the same dirty, abusive tactics as trans rights activists.

Not surprised it's happening, though. You reap what you sow.

[–]al-Amira 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I'm of the opinion that doxxing for the most part is just utterly pointless. Sure, some groups - in particular women, are/can be quite vulnerable to such a strategy, but all in all it's just a stupid thing to do, not because I harbour any kind of sympathy towards this particular person in question - there's literally not an ounce of sympathy or empathy towards him. I just don't think it is a particularly good method for achieving anything really.

Darn. I wanted to read this, but the text from The post has been removed. Where there links? This is incredible karma for all the evil that they did
