Well we will see how a 3 month old who been in the doggy hospital for 3 weeks acts. My friend is the founder of a dog rescue and they got a littler from a back yard breeder when they all got parvo and they couldn’t afford the vet bill. https://imgur.com/a/mNC8L1S

That FACE! I want to cuddle this pup so much. I love big dogs. Your wife is going to love it. I mean, she might be irked at first because introducing a new animal into a household is quite stressful, especially if you didn't choose the change, but how can you be upset for long when that face is there?

Omg, that little shaved IV site :( Those paws though!! He's going to be a big boy!

AWWW he looks just like marmaduke!! So cute, and yeah you really decided go big or go home in the literally biggest way huh? 😆 I bet she’ll love the surprise of such a big dog, or at least she won’t be upset with you for too long if she is mad at all 😉😅

That's a really big dog. Gonna go through twenty pound bags of dogfood like nothing.

I'd like to see her stay mad at you with that puppy looking at her lovingly. And he's a rescue, good on you for giving him a chance at a great life.

The horses eat about 20lb of hay and feed a day each, as long as he stays under that I’m good

That is honestly so cute, and your reaction is so cute. I think she will be happy.

She made me soft inside. My close friends and family think it’s hilarious. Now here I am sneaking in a puppy because the other 2 are working dogs and only want to be out chasing cows.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. That’s wonderful. She must be pretty awesome. I hope she’s happy with the puppy and all the extra work you’re going to be doing with a puppy around, as if you don’t do enough! Lol. Better make sure she’s in charge of the training

I set up weekly in home training classes with someone I know who trains military/police dogs this morning, called the doggy day care so he can socialize with new dogs and people a few times a week, and made a vet appointment for a health check and shots. Trying to make this a fully realized smooth plan is a pain.

Boy, she’s lucky you are thinking of everything. Wow. Please let us know what happens!

You should probably communicate better about such things as new pet purchases...especially with an animal that is so much work

I own a working ranch, a new dog is a drop in the bucket compared to everything else

You might want to let her know subtly

All I can tell you is that my ex “surprised“ me with a dog when I expressly had told her previously (when we had discussed it) that I was not in a place for us to care for one. I resented that she did get one without telling me.

Is your gut nervous because a big part of you knows that she won’t be very happy?

Yes, of course I grew to love the dog and wound up having custody of her when we broke up. It was more that she knew how I felt and the dog was really something she wanted.

Am I the only one who thinks it's really not ok to have such a big thing be a surprise?
