lmao. I'm ok with it. The further they delineate the QTIPA from the LGB the better. Feel free to drop the L while you're at it, guys.

I prefer to think of it as the L moving itself to the back of the acronym, ready to sneak off when the other letters aren't looking.

Nah, keep the L out of whatever that is.

What this is, is garbage. Straight in the trash it goes.

Holy hell - I thought QUILTBAG (Queer/Questioning, Undecided, Intersex, Lesbian, Trans, Bisexual, Asexual, or Gay/Genderqueer) was bad enough but in QTIPAL they don't even let gay or bi have their own letter.

Edit - also why is polyamorous alongside Bi and Pan - that just feeds into the negative sterotype that bi people can't choose and won't settle down with one partner.

I personally find it hilarious that being a swinger is now considered a sexuality.

I've not seen it used in lesbian spaces but I have seen a few gay men online argue that if you're a gay man in a monogamous relationship with another man you're in a heteronormative relationship and therefore aren't actually gay.

If people want to swing or be in a thruple or a poly-cube or set up a sexual commune then more power to them but I don't understand putting people down because they want to be with one partner at a time.

They seem to think anything that's not straight and monogamous belongs in the alphabet soup. It's not about having a different sexuality anymore, now it's all about being a special snowflake.

LOL!!!!! QUILTBAG sounds like a name you'd call the most hopelessly useless person in the word. Like something you'd substitute for calling someone a faggot (in the reclaimed sense).

"Shut the fuck up, you stupid fucking quiltbag."

[–]reluctant_commenter 15 insightful - 2 fun15 insightful - 1 fun16 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Right? Like dude, this collection of letters was not assembled to sound cute, it was for presenting a united front when attempting to change laws and acceptance in society. At least, that's my understanding.

[–][deleted] 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

yeah deffo seems they've gotten uh, a bit off track. it's obviously not about ssa rights anymore, the G & B ain't even in there, so why are we? just drop the L & be the QT-PAI club. please.

[–][deleted] 16 insightful - 12 fun16 insightful - 11 fun17 insightful - 12 fun -  (0 children)

If someone tried to call me their cutie-pal we are going to have issues. WTF is wrong with people. That was a statement not a question so ? wasn’t ever going to go at the end there.

[–][deleted] 14 insightful - 5 fun14 insightful - 4 fun15 insightful - 5 fun -  (0 children)

Brb gonna go throw up

[–]VioletRemi 13 insightful - 1 fun13 insightful - 0 fun14 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That is one disgusting thing. Why they even adding "L" without lesbian consent, and where is "G" or "B" then? They just want Trans and Queer to be first and not last like in LGBTQ?

[–]WildwoodFlower 12 insightful - 2 fun12 insightful - 1 fun13 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

But what IS it? A group? A new label? Why would I "need it"?

[–]Canardyyy 11 insightful - 2 fun11 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Go ahead, take the LGB and we’ll see how much of a failure that will be.
