Since pandemic hit I have double the work, as people going to forced vacations or getting ill, and mine is much later.

I had awesome adventures planed that got canceled. My first vacation in years. I’m still bitter. The daily routine hasn’t changed much still waking up at the butt crack of dawn to feeding all the critters, cleaning stalls, doing projects around the ranch, feeding everyone again then selling tractors and equipment 2 days a week. I’m very lucky that all my jobs are classified as agriculture and my wife works for a tech company from home, so we haven’t been hit financially. Normally this time of year I’m doing a ton of horse hauling on top of everything else, but they canceled rodeo and show season where I’m at has given me a lot of free time that I don’t normally have.

I'm really enjoying running now although it's extremely hot and humid so that makes it quite hard at times. I've picked up longboarding and skate around the now empty commuter lots. Its pretty fun. And no one's there so built-in social distancing although I still wear a mask when longboarding. And you know just work, and chilling online. I do miss RL interaction though...

I'm sorry to hear about all the stress and loss you're experiencing.

And I can relate to the school thing because I was going back to school when all this hit and was supposed to finish up the associates part of my degree in the fall and hopefully start the bachelors portion in 2021, but now I don't really want to sign up for anything with everything so uncertain and crazy.

On a more positive note, I'm super envious of your mechanic skills.

thank you :) my coworkers asked me this week what i would do with my kids if i had any -- send them to school or do online. and i said i'd let them go ignorant for a couple years till this virus ends lol. an online course has to be really good if i'm going to learn from it. i'm sorry this has caught you right in the middle of your schooling. it's hard to decide what to do.

Good job one your fuel pump! I’ve been fighting with one of our older swathers to try and keep myself busy. It’s not going well, she’s about to meet 5 gallons of diesel and a match.

I am so sorry to hear all of that! I have some friends that work as RT and they are telling me the nightmares.

Hang in there! Wish I could bring you food! I have been loading up the nurses here at the hospital snacks and things indivudally wrapped although my savings is dwindling. They have to re use their masks for two weeks here. This places is bonkers

Were we supposed to be having interesting adventures during a pandemic? You do realize some of us lost pretty much everything due to this, right? Kind of annoying that it is implied that we're supposed to be having an interesting, fun time.

I'm sorry things have been tough for you :(

Maybe not the best wording on the OPs part.

I agree. I appreciate OP trying to be positive and talking about the pandemic. I am under a lot of financial stress right now though, and I am well aware that I am one of the luckier ones.

I'm sorry to hear you've got a lot to deal with.

One of my stalkers is now my neighbor and I have to relocate immediately, and the DA is supporting my lease breaking. However, I posted positive chite anyways. So I have to leave the area, or stand my ground with a gun. I posted positive stuff anyways

    A few things I've done:

    • tried out the app Randonautica that sets you out to a randomized location nearby with an intention (that you set) in mind. My intention was "hidden", and it brought me to private property where some pickup trucks were parked behind some foliage and some dangerous looking people kept watching me, as if waiting for me to go away (I did), so...success? I'll try it again sometime, but probably outside of my not-so-great neighborhood.

    • sucked it up and gave myself a haircut because i couldn't take it anymore. i hate getting my hair cut at salons, so i might try to keep this up.

    • had to pause my membership at my gym due to unemployment / who wants to go to the gym right now? and made a set of cheap dumbbells out of concrete and PVC pipe that i've been using to work out at home for the past week or so. i'd like to make a sandbag and a slosh pipe next.

    • brought my dog to the top of a parking garage to watch the sunset during the saharan africa dust cloud

    • went looking for the NEOWISE comet but could never find it

    • took my dog on a walk downtown at the time when everything was completely shut down to look at all the street art

Thank you, I have definitely been trying to make something out of the shit sandwich we're in.

I got a girlfriend, we quarantined together, and now it's turning into a permanent arrangement. 2020 was my year, I guess.

I’ve been working as a nurse during the pandemic and the experience has left me drained and with low morale. I’m grateful that my job was spared but at what cost? The good thing is that its motivated me to go back to school.

Informatics. Are you from Lubbock? I’m in Houston. I just really want to get away from bedside.

i've met a few people that have gone into informatics and they've really liked it.
i am in lubbock. stay safe down there.

I’ve been exploring all around my neighbourhood on foot, walking down all of the streets and paying attention. I find I miss a lot of stuff when life is as fast as it was before the pandemic. I’ve also had the first summer in several years. I am usually working a lot and don’t see the light of day.

I have discovered off the grid trail maps here in the US that are not part of the state park system, and not on Google Maps. I started going out daily back in March (I am a daily runner anyways). It was soo surreal as almost every time, I was the only one out there on hundreds, sometimes thousands of acres.

I always carry pepper spray and more with me. At first that was a fear, seeing someone and being out in nature where no one could find me if something happened.

It felt like an 80s end of the world movie most of March and into Aprill. I continued to go out on them and I saw a couple of people eventually, and once a park ranger.

I did get caught up in barbed wire when I was running through one area, and my scar now looks a bit like a tribal tat. I knew I was out of date on my TDap, and I did not want to go into a doc office, so I went to an out of the way pharmacy to get the vaccination for tetanus.

Other than that, I went back to my childhood. I have colored both in old school coloring books and free hand. My home is looking like a day care center because I work on my art. My meditations have increased to almost two hours a day. I cannot find work, and have my own side business I am trying to live off. Unemployment has gone nowhere since I applied 4 months ago now it seems. No end in site there I am sure. No one will hire me because I am over qualified and over educated (I am told), so, I just keep on doing my own thing. I started learning sanskrit, and learning what yoga REALLY is (which is not getting bendy!!)

I miss touching humans and seeing them. I am hugging trees, doing so much mindfulness stuff now, and signed up for another degree in a distance program. My friends asked how many I will have soon. I just do not see anything else to do, so I am working on myself emotionally, physically, and mentally while enjoying my art that I do and fossil and jewelry making.

I got back into bass which I played for a long time.

      I look at nature more.

I am growing microgreens in my home.

I am looking to relocate perhaps before fall, because as more than one of my degrees is science (soc and psych stuff too), I can tell you that people can get more than one virus at one time, and flu season is only weeks away. The hospitals are usually swamped during flu season.

I know that establishing new care with a primary doc is hard af right now, because the primary docs and internal medicine are taking rounds caring for covid patients at the hospital, so their time is pulled from their regular patients.

      Trying to maintain cohesion.

I have seen no one distanced, except for neighbors occasionally.

Some days I feel like I am disappearing.

I am not from the area I live in, so I have done some video chats and phone calls, but it is just not enough. I am getting asked out on dating apps, but I am saying no. Not worth it at this time. I have an immune disorder, The nurse here might be familiar with Hashis. It has attacked me before, (the antibodies) and I do not have a thyroid anymore because of it.
