I don't have a favorite lesbian movie; I don't watch a lot of movies to begin with. I've rewatched Below Her Mouth numerous times(on mute) but I really like the sex scenes in that movie. But my favorite non lesbian movies are The Lion King and The Prince of Egypt.

So let's just say Below Her Mouth (sex scenes) and The Lion King and Prince of Egypt. I honestly can't think of any similarities these two animated movies have with Below Her Mouth.

      LOL.

PS.I can not even watch it in mute.I am not a prude,I like my dose of smut but by the gods the story was such a cliche, the actresses were unconvincing (especially Erica Linder as a pasty white, noodle armed roofer) and had very little chemistry.

      The power of voodoo!

I fucking love that film. Like so much. I was in love with Jennifer Connolly. My favourite part is the ballroom scene and the scene with the stairs at the end. And the helping hands, and all the songs. I was singing that song to my niece today and tossing her in the air

One of my most favorite films as well.Loved the goblin puppets and David Bowie rocked it as the menacing Goblin King who later is proved to be so very lonely.

I knew a lot of lesbians in college who were rocking that Sarah from "Labyrinth" flowy shirt and a vest aesthetic.

Lesbian: Portrait of a Lady on Fire

      Favourite Lesbian Movie: The Hours

Favourite Straight Movie: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

What they have in common: Both movies are sad. Both are more about grief, heartbreak and freedom than they are about romance. Both feature the emotional labour expected of both men and women. Both show how emotionally taxing and rewarding all relationships can be.

Anime all the way. Nothing will ever beat The Adolescence of Utena as one of the best lesbian films for me. Otherwise, I usually like fantasy/sci fi type films. Not really a big fan of the Marvel movies, but I did love Captain Marvel. Though I kind of include that in the 'honorary lesbian' film category, because it seemed pretty obvious that Carol and Maria were a lesbian couple at one point.

L: Carol (2015) NL: Moonlight S8: ngl i cant think of one rn XD

Both are simple stories about love and finding identity. Both feature talented actors and actresses who look hot af. Both about yearning and loss. Warms my heart.

High Art (lesbian), A History of Violence (not lesbian) Raise the Red Lantern (not lesbian) (the non-lesbian ones are a tie)

They don’t have much in common apart from being dark and containing babes. Actually, that’s not true, the palette is probably similar and they are more artistic than mainstream and are quite thought-provoking. Raise the red lantern is very beautiful and the score is too. I love the score on high art. Very strong women in different circumstances

"Raise the Red Lantern" is one of my top 10 favorite movies ever despite being emotionally difficult to watch in some places.

I love so many movies that I can't pick any favorites.

During the mid-90s, I recorded "When Night Is Falling" (1995) on a VHS tape to rewatch it whenever I wanted instead of waiting for it to replay on cable... but I don't consider it my #1 favorite lesbian movie in 2020.

I also recorded "To Wong Foo" (1995) because I thought drag queens were funny... but again, not my #1 favorite non-lesbian movie in 2020.

"Just One of the Guys" (1985) is the movie that influenced me to identify as a guy (and to be a writer)... so it was definitely my favorite during my identity crisis.

        So that's two "drag" movies.

again, hot women. and they have awesome sex in it

Which involves spitting at a lover's mouth (of course the idea belonged to a man...).Also they never get their clothes off which makes it a bit unrealistic.

One of the best lesbian sex scenes in film is the one from 2011 Swedish movie Kyss Mig (Kiss Me/With Every Heartbeat). Also the makeout scene from Miseducation of Cameron Post (when Cameron and Coley are watching Desert Hearts) is both very realistic and pretty damn hot.
