Does saidit have an "I'm 14 and this is deep sub?"

Burning down an innocent persons's business does fuck all to solve the problem. If you want to go burn down the murder's business, have at it, I guess. But ruining the livelihood of innocent people is only going to make the situation worse.

When you burn down a building you might kill people inside it.

Party A attacked party B. Therefor party C clearly has the right to attack party D who was not connected to party A or the intial attack. Seems legit.

Uhhh, what? Did you even think about this for a second? Of course you are allowed to defend yourself and your property. This is a false equivalence. At no point does destroying property in reprisal of a death matter in relation to that death, but defending yourself and property DOES deter infringement on it.

Might be some manipulation going on . . . . . .

Property comes with obligations for the person who owns it. A forgotten fact. Doing charity work has nothing to do with these obligations for society.

And killing of people is unjustifiable . It is either state terrorism or simple murder . The word war was just framed to sugarcoat what it actually is.

Thank me later for this solution.

I even believe that every kind of ownership should be crowdsourced.

All the tools for change are there but since so many so called members of the elite have absolutely nothing of worth for humankind left, when you strip them of their property:

They of course defend it. That is why they possibly will be lynched. Like so many "kings" and "queens" were already as history shows.

I already built my https://saidit.net/s/ToolBox/comments/6943/opinion_amplifier/ for possible participation. So you could say, i am prepared.

This is 100% something you can do right now within capitalism. Literally no one is stopping you. Go ahead and start your co-op. Bust your ass building a business and give every worker who tags in at any moment full partnership.

You won't. People like you only want to take the businesses someone else busted their ass building and give yourselves full partnership.

I'll even fund the co-op. Ill buy the hot dog cart and supplies then handle inventory, you operate it and we split the money down the middle. You in?

You're simplifying it to dissect it. I get it. But that's not the idea i had.

That is the problem with all these idealistic leftists. You all never think past the platitudes. It's always "school should be free" and that is the end of your thought. And whenever someone challenges that with details about why that won't work or is a bad idea all you do is shut down. You never put any deep thought into anything, so you never get past the catch phrase.

Group ownership of business does not work. Running a business by vote does not work. The closest thing that can work is the stock market. The most capitalist of all institutions.

The tragedy of the commons is why group ownership of property doesn't work. Everything need maintenance, and how you treat things determines how much maintenance. A public bus costs more to maintain than a private one, but the private one is always 100x nicer. Ghetto people always destroy property at a rate 100x that of upper class people. There will never ever be peace because the ghetto people will always assume they have the shitty stuff because they are being mistreated, and the upper class will always hate them for their destructive behavior. It can't last.

Group ownership of a business does work. You just gotta find a balance between hierarchy, "the crowd" and the owners that is fair.

It may be not as easy to implement as it is done at the moment in most companies but it is absolutely possible.

I know some communities in my direct neighbourhood that operate exactly in this way. Maybe it is in fact not that scalable as all the known solutions are, idk.

But: Guess what ? People participating in it are relatively happy because they easily can recognize two things:

They effort they put into it and the greater goal they did it for. Because they actually discussed and peer-reviewed it.

My co workers are morons. I don't want any of them having any say in anything that I rely on for income. I don't want to live like that, most people don't. Stop trying to force it on them, especially when you have every opportunity to live the way you want already.

Socialism is not about allowing socialists to have worker owned businesses, they already have that. Socialism is about taking away everyone else's right to live the way they want to live.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

I don't force anything on anyone. I just wrote that it can be made to work.

And your "simple" definition of "socialism" sure as hell ain't mine.

[–]Canbot 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Socialism requires forcing it others. No one living under socialism is allowed to own their own business. Under Capitalism you are free to do what you want. Advocating for Socialism IS ADVOCATING FOR FORCING IT ON EVERYONE.

Otherwise everything you want to do under socialism you can voluntarily do right now. You can start a fund to pay for other people's education, healthcare, whatever. Socialism says you don't get a fucking choice, you have to pay for everyone else's everything.

Socialism IS tyranny. '

That is an implementation you are describing. Not more. Because we haven't seen more so far.

I believe "societies" have to get way smaller to survive any ways, so there is that for one.

And concerning this argument of yours "you are forced" : So you don't pay taxes ? Did you built the streets you are driving on yourself ?

Do you build the car you are driving yourself ? Your computer ? Any software ?

Shall i call IRS ?

If your way only works for small societies then let's stop saying we should implement it in our large society. Maybe after the purge, when 80% of the population is dead we can revisit it. Sound good?

Killing people for no reason?

[–]Drewski 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Police misconduct (I assume this is what the meme is referencing) doesn't justify stealing and destroying private citizens private property. Protesting is one thing, destroying an unrelated person's livelihood is another and that is not ok.

Destruction of property justifying killing people: this depends on the situation. If some kids bash your mailbox, obviously it's not ok to shoot them. If someone is breaking into your house then you have every right to defend yourself and your family, you don't know what this person intends or is capable of.

I don't think this is related to capitalism though.

[–]jet199 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That's not capitalism though.

Do you think it was any different during feudalism?

[–]Urkleburkle 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Some jackass getting himself killed by acting like a jackass doesn't give some other jackasses the right to burn down my home or business. However, some jackasses trying to burn down my home or business gives me the right to kill those jackasses (morally if not legally).
