As much as I would like to see America's right wing (shit, even our left wing) lean further left, what did they expect? "Gay conservative" is a bit of an oxymoron.

Gay conservatives are Christians who couldn't chose between their faith and their sexuality, so they resorted to cognitive dissonance. We can be fiscally conservative, but being gay or atheist automatically strips you of the social conservative status, at least in the eyes of the GOP. I'd like to see the log cabin republicans jump that rat infested ship and help boost the libertarian party.

Sorry, Wizard of Oz auditions are over and the role of the straw man has already been cast. Homosexuality is social conservatism because it depends on a traditional definition of biological sex to exist at all.
