Yeah for any number of reasons they are freaked out by being the "receptive partner" in a sexual interaction.

I've said this before but when i was in school a girl came into the LGBT center saying she thought she was trans but didn't have dysphoria. Luckily there was no staff there in the room at the time. I asked a few questions and it quickly became clear it was purely a sexual issue not an issue of "identity". This was before my peak trans and before i knew all the politics around this. After we chatted for about an hour i finally got to here issue. She wanted to be "the top" in a gay male sexual relationship.

I had already started to research outcomes of transition at this time so I pointed out that even if she decided to go through with the FtM surgery that the member doesn't work afterwards.

I pointed out that from a purely statistical standpoint it would be easier to find a straight guy that would let her use a strap on than to find a gay guy that would. She was looking at 3-5% of the population being gay then cut that in half for the men in half again for bottoms then cut it again trying to find one of those guys that would be willing to try a FtM with a strap on. Alternatively I said she could take the 97% of straight men. The percentage willing to try the strap-on might be small BUT so few women are into that so if you are the one girl on tinder who says it then every guy who wants to try it will instantly be interested. She was also a really attractive girl so it wasn't going to be difficult. On the other side all gay men who are bottoms have tops who already have a dick so they don't need to go seeking out the unicorn.

She started having this moment staring into the distance straight ahead for a while then she left and i never saw her again after that.
