Apparently Florida is a really conservative state, at least as far as politicians go (mostly religious Repulicans). I can understand being concerned that there's a snowball effect going on and a lot of very minor things could end up becoming criminal offenses, but it feels like people are getting worked up about the wrong things.

Like people are saying "what, so if I'm gay and I go on a trip with my husband over the weekend, I can't even talk about it!". Back when I was in school, teachers never talked about their personal lives with us students. There was a very clear separation between adults and kids, and making sure personal boundary lines didn't get blurred. Is this a thing now???

I went to a catholic school and had no idea about wether or not my teacher was married... I wouldn't even bother to ask because they were there to teach not to be friends.

I definitely knew which of my teachers were married and had kids. No details, but at least that much.
