I don't think I'm allowed to post, but I came across a very sad post about a straight woman who is willing to marry a man that plans to transition right after their wedding. She's going along with it out of fear of being a transphobe, despite being sickened by the idea of her soon-to-be spouse's transition.

She says, "I am sick to my stomach thinking about this. When I think of them transitioning I feel grossed out. When I see them in femme clothes (even though it's been years) I feel angry and bitter. When they act femme, I cringe! And then I feel angry and sickened by myself for feeling that way! It's a vicious cycle. Am I being transphobic? Or is this normal? How can I stop this? I feel sickened by myself. I didn't want to post this before because I was scared of getting attacked on here but I really want to change. I need help.

I know I am not being supportive right now, I am being tolerant and that's not what my partner needs."

I feel really bad for this poor woman. She's convinced she's the problem.

6 years later she still feels like you do, and having a half-baked marriage bc one partner can't/won't/doesn't have the ability to accept and love the other is a huge mistake and a guarantee of a grind.

This is the overall theme of the takes there; That it's exclusively her fault.

The dance of opposite genders is deeply rooted in evolution and highly trained into everyone with elaborate enforcement. We are taught that cross gender activity is wrong, deviant, confused, etc.

Ah, yeah... evolution. Sounds like evopsych. I'm pretty sure these modern gender roles are a relatively recent development.

Anyway, I agree with most there that they should call it off. Though obviously I think for different reasons then they do there.
