There is no way I'm reading that tantrum (nothing against you, Xandit, I just don't want to even metaphorically give that author the satisfaction of reading his tripe). The fact that he gave the game 1 out of 10 stars is just laughable. Also, at this point, I think JK needs to start suing these assholes for libel re: the whole "antisemitic" bullshit. That's a horrible label to slap on someone, particularly without any proof, and they need to learn that like the rest of us they can't just smear someone like that without consequences. Wow, Wired really showed their ass with this. Completely unprofessional and bush league.

If you check out her Twitter replies you can enjoy the ones where she discusses her lawyers, in response to some of the idiots who openly defame her. She has indeed begun to take the gloves off.

Good. Of course the people slandering her will now just cry victim and wail about the mean billionaire coming after their poor asses, but having less money than someone doesn't give you the right to defame them. I hope that tactic doesn't stop her, though.

I sincerely doubt that she will care. She's gotten fairly staunch in the last year or so about not apologizing or trying to coddle these twits.

As if I couldn't love her more 😍

So . . . these TRAs have provoked numerous state legislatures into passing bills restricting the transing of children or restricting teachers from teaching gender ideology to kids to make them think they are potentially in the wrong body, but . . . they somehow imagine that continually attempting to target JKR is somehow going to result in a "win" for them.

Please, just continue to prove how out-of-touch with reality you are.

This stuff is backfiring hardcore. The panicked landslide of videos and articles, "reviews" like this (which Wired has apparently gotten backlash for...the guy mainly reviews sex toys), stalking and harassment of people who stream the game, and on and on. It is opening a lot of eyes. And people are still just going ahead and buying the game in droves.

I'm not saying that the game's success (it is breaking records, though the year is young) is entirely a result of people giving the middle finger to naysayers, but there is a sort of Streisand effect going on with this game. The meltdowns are a mixture of hilarious and disturbing. I actually have met one such person documented on Kiwi Farms IRL. This individual has made hot takes such as "you gay men need to learn to like vagina, you are brainwashed," and has been an unpleasant ass in what few conversations I've had. I complimented an admittedly beautiful chalk drawing, and got a pretty frosty response. So I take great pleasure in seeing this person's displeasure. Crucio!

Very thinly-veiled biased rant. This is why so many people don't trust game journalists nowadays.

Ok, if it needs to be said, I started playing the game this weekend and it is so much fun.

I hate the word "y'all" and hope the trans obsession with using it wipes it out

It’s an embarrassing attempt to claim solidarity with Black people by talking like a provincial uneducated backwoods hick. It’s honestly kind of racist.

I think we are now witnessing the long tail of organizations and publications which will be slow to wake up as the tide does indeed turn. The NYT doing so is a real turning point on this side of the Atlantic. Bit sad that Wired, which has prided itself on being cutting-edge for decades, is slower on the uptake.
