Sad that I'm so excited about this... but fantastic! He didn't get away with it!

This is an extremely long gap between the arrest and the trial. That's usually an indication of corruption of some kind, I think it's a much bigger deal than it looks that he has actually been convicted.

This reminds me of the Murder of Marrisa Shen. By now, the trial date has been postponed 4 times, and I'd not be surprised if it is again. Inconveniently, the main suspect(who the police collared through DNA dragnet) was a Syrian refugee at a time when Justin Trudeau was being heavily criticized for the then policies of the Canadian refugee program.

Yep. If they're dragging their feet it's because there's political pressure on them not to prosecute.
