These subs present a kind of unintentional window into groups of people who can barely manage their own emotional lives -- or lives in general. They're constantly having to play head games with themselves to prop themselves up and, if you take them seriously, get through the day without harming themselves.

I come away thinking, "I wish you could have gotten real help to resolve your underlying issues instead of, for example, apparently fleeing in terror from being female as a coping strategy."

My thoughts exactly. It sounds preferable in theory to take all of your deep-rooted, complicated, painful, embarrassing feelings and turn them into a fun and exciting journey, but this is what you end up with. They’re frogs in hot water being encouraged by others just like them in these echo chambers so all seems good and normal to them. I don’t think most of the trans or bust crowd realizes that this is what they’re enabling and I think they’d find it too crazy to be true. Or the edgiest of edge cases. Certainly not a pattern or a problem that we need to contend with. So here we are.

This protocol takes people who are emotionally fragile, and instead of trying to put them on a firm foundation for emotional health, it makes sure they're on a path to perpetual distress.

Yaoi and lesbian porn both contain homosexual relationships of one sex but are clearly made for the straight members of the opposite sex. I feel like adults should specifically blacklist those words on their children's devices as it often seems to damage younger children. It seems like it harms their sexual development.
