But... but... I thought kids as young as 1 knew who they were on the inside and never changed....

... You'll think they'll see people making those dumb lists and become self-aware about how much those words means nothing to them... it's like picking an ice cream flavor. I don't get that they don't get it

That's what mindfucks me every time I think about it. Like, I don't want to acknowledge that so many people are so dumb, my faith in Humanity can't handle that blow...but if they aren't stupid, that means they are propagating this out of pure malice which means I have to contend with the idea that 'evil' actually exists.
It's such a headache...

I think a lot of this is kids that are being confused by a lot of the rhetoric surrounding being "queer" these days.

When I was in high school, I came out as bi first because (1) I thought it would be more acceptable than being gay and (2) I was confused about my sexuality and not really sure that I was actually gay. After some self-reflection, I realized I was gay and came out as such a few months later.

I try to imagine being a high schooler now and seeing all of this different stuff and being like, "Am I asexual? No, that's not right. Maybe I'm aromantic and demisexual? Am I bi? Or gay? Oh, what's this about aceflux? Maybe that's me."

It seems very confusing and I'm not surprised that a bunch of kids are having trouble figuring it out, especially when it seems like "being straight" just isn't cool.

That's very on point. Add to that how all these identities' definitions are horribly unclear that everyone can fit them. No wonder they swap them as they find a fresh new label, it sorta fits with its muddy definition, the excitement with something new gets mistaken for finding "the correct label" and here we go.

I wish sexualities were never associated with age, "coolness" or some arbitrary personality type(positive or not). It made many who didn't associate themselves with those not realize and never identify as their actual sexuality.

I like to think that reasonably smart people simply choose not to sign up for twitter.

Anyway, follow me on twitter

I made a mistake to be there just to follow my fav celebs backs in the day.

I assure you that evil do exist, and you can't always explain it in a rational manner which is very annoying and terrifying, but that's just life. On the other hand, it also mean that good exist.

I believe in my heart that it's a form of self hatred that they're expressing, while trying really hard to persuade people and themselves that they are loving and compassionate. That's just a shitty disguise and also very manipulative.

i don't get why they've decided that asexuality is on a spectrum

How else can they wedge straight people who only like sex on days with a Y in them into the LGBTIQQAAXYZWTF+ community?

[–]INeedSomeTimeAsexual Ally 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Same. I never understood it and always oppose it. It's difficult to deal with people who claim to be asexual like me yet I see them gushing over guys like crazy. I am nothing like you, wtf.

I saw a similar version of this question but related to gender identity and it went similar. Cis -> many different versions of nonbinary switched ever since. My pipeline? Straight -> asexual, and only because I misunderstood straightness as being not gay (not being attracted to the same sex) not as being attracted to opposite sex... after understanding this I don't swap labels like new socks every day.

For a while I mostly thought of straightness as cross-sex attraction, whether or not there was any same-sex attraction; And gayness as an absence of the former.

My “sexuality pipeline” was:

Straight

Gay

Bi?

Gay… over the course of about three hours… they act like it’s some fucking mystical energy that transforms and shifts over time.

For me it took me longer to figure it out because asexuality wasn’t known at all so at some point as a teen I was simply like "My orientation? No idea" until I found the term - I didn’t know about Tumblr then and didn’t think of checking any non-straight places. Then got disappointed it's claimed to be a spectrum so a married woman with kids can claim to be kweer too.

It's gotten arguably even worse than when I was a teenager. This stuff really messes with your head, I went from being so certain and comfortable with myself to being utterly confused within a year. I know now that for me it basically went:

Straight -> bi -> lesbian -> straight (in the form of many stupid labels) -> "trans inclusive lesbian" (bi) -> lesbian

It forced me back into the closet but it was somehow me finding my true self. I tried really hard to muster up any attraction to men at all, including estrogenized men. I felt so much guilt about it that I attempted DIY conversion therapy. So stupid.

Oh god, that makes me sad. It reminds me of a "lesbian" who claims to be trans inclusive but I have a feeling that she truly isn't trans inclusive. Her personality simply makes her afraid to set any boundaries.

Biminal(bi liminal) space seems to be a thing.
