JK Rowling does not have thin skin, so she is able to choose her battles. She does not come across as whiny, petulant, and implacable like the vast majority of her detractors such as Ben Cohen who can’t help but get in his own way (and those of LGBT people generally). In contrast, when JK strikes, it has impact and causes you to sit up and pay attention rather than tune her out.

She is also not overly concerned with engaging in Twitter battles. She recognizes that Twitter is not the best medium to communicate a complex and nuanced message and self-publishes on her own website so that she cannot be misconstrued and censored.

There is a lot to be learned from her. She wields her power well. Many of her detractors realize this but they’re not shrewd enough to figure out how or why, and are too egotistical and self-righteous to realize they’re out-classed. It will be to their detriment though, because she’s demonstrated that she’s in it for the long haul and plays the long game.

Indeed there is nothing so satisfying as Katy Montgomerie shrieking pointlessly at her like the Simpsons ‘old man yells at cloud’ meme

Ah yes, Katy, a living testament to “trans joy.”
