Because it's easy, cheap, mostly inoffensive, and adaptable to anything and everything. You're not meant to look at it for any length of time. It's just for you to have bright colors and high contrast lines shoved at your face in an attempt to make you more receptive to whatever they're shilling

I had the impression that it was some kind of spin off from Stephen universe after they shoehorned in a bunch of trans ideology.

I don't think it has to do with stephen universe at all, it's just "the corporate artstyle" at this point. If anything, I'd call it the symptom of a trend of flat, ugly, single use, disposable everything that's cropping up in every corner of society. People seem to want speed and convenience, not quality or longevity anymore. Fuck, I sound like a boomer rn, but it's a legit concern. We make low quality garbage products that break after a day if a new trend hasn't rendered them obsolete by then, and then this garbage is thrown away into landfills or the ocean. This corporate artstyle is just the digital version of that. Mass produceable garbage clipart that no one cares about and get's thrown into the recycling bin as soon as a different color combinaton or incorrect human body proportion becomes the trend of the hour.

Yeah I'll agree with the idea of corporate shit recycling through the culture. Then the people pick up the idea of a trendy thing and amplify what started as a corporate influence to make something cheaper and shittier.

This is exactly how I feel about the "open concept" corporate office. The CEO brags about that office type helping to increase productivity and collaboration and how trendy it is to make the workers feel better about being packed in like sardines.
