That was a fascinating read and I related to it. I always related to male characters more or male celebrities but I never really had typical girl crush fantasies about them. I saw them more as role models or just very intriguing people.

Before or early puberty, looking at attractive men felt more like shopping for my own body and I liked the strong woman trope perhaps because i wasn't sexually attracted to them so I was more critical of women portrayed as sex objects.

Later on after i finally realized I was gay, i did think that my dating life would be so much easier if I were a woman. The thing is i am not interested in the added maintenance of a female body so I never really even gave it much thought.

It's super interesting that lesbians really like masculine men, more than straight women.

I know lesbians like masculine women, but that's too much.

Maybe straight women have a certain barrier to masculinity? Like, they would fear him in bed with an ultra masculine guy? They would want masculinity only up to a certain point that keeps them attracted to them?

I think it’s because the lesbians (at least the really butch ones) just have more in common with masculine men socially speaking.
