The federal government also signalled that it will look at further legislative changes as part of its action plan. It plans to launch a public consultation on whether to make it illegal to perform cosmetic surgery on intersex children's genitals until they are mature enough to give consent.

And yet cross-sex hormones and double mastectomies are A-OK and any talk of 'consent' is 'transphobic'.

As an interesting bit of context, look into the Laith Marouf scandal (you won't see the CBC reporting on it). Basically the feds gave a big pile of money to a massively anti-semitic racist as part of it's 'anti-racism' strategy.

Now they're pouring millions into this ill-defined cause. This is just Stonewall's 'Diversity Champion' grift redux.

I think from their perspective this is consistent. They want sex to be defined as both a spectrum and a social construct while insisting that the made up concept of gender identity is innate.

Intersex people are the foothold they use to try and set up the first part of that. They already stole the "assigned at birth" terminology from intersex people. They think it's a great crime that they were "assigned" incorrectly at birth so the extremely tiny fraction of people who actually go through this are a focal point. The TRAs are superimposing their own consternation about being "assigned" incorrectly onto intersex people. The issue is that it's not clear what the best solution is for intersex people. I do happen to agree that the doctors shouldn't be doing genital operations on infants just to shoehorn them into a normal category. I do think that licenses and birth certificates should have an extra category for intersex people.

Issue is that legal documents have been taken hostage by these dumb ass gender ID categories and even if you worked it out that a document said "M/F/I" you would get all these microbrain enbys trying to get their documents to say intersex.
