Stonewall's program is so transparently a racket that I can't believe any sane head of a business or educational institution would sign up for it. You pay to be dictated to under threat of getting bad reviews?

Anyone who agreed to enter into such an agreement should be sacked.

Lol, when you put it that way, it really does sound insane.

However, there is also the element where a company could be maligned for not participating. Essentially, pressured or coerced into participation. I think there's a similar parallel here with the US News college ranking "scheme" in the US; some colleges that refuse to pay up, such as Reed College, got ranked super low on that ranking system, lol. So refusing to pay-to-play can damage an organization's reputation. I know some people who swear by US News rankings and others who are aware of the pay-to-play aspect and are more skeptical about it.

You’re right but they’re essentially buying a credential that they can brag about when they talk about how LGBT friendly they are in marketing. The HRC does this in the U.S. with the Corporate Equality Index. It’s not even to attract LGBT people (duh), it’s to virtue signal to woke heterosexual recent grads that now expect to see this stuff or they mutiny.

There was also an issue of critical mass. Now it’s suspect when a major company doesn’t do this. So they pay the ransom money even if they otherwise weren’t inclined to.
