A lot of straight women pretending to be bi or non binary for attention. What else is new?

Yup het women prentending to be bi has been the case for years, as a way to feel transgressive and special. It's mainly in the youngest population where openeness to new experience is biologically high, I'm sure among 30 years old you would find much less such cases as most of those fake bi's settled to have husband and kids not seeking attention anymore. The worst are the ones pretending to be lesbians though,

I will never understand straight women pretending to be lesbians. And a lot of these straight "bi" women would probably think that homosexuality is a faze.

The evidence reviewed here indicates that an explicitly political motivation may be at work among whites and the university educated, but this is less likely to account for the rise in LGBT identity among young minorities and those without a college education.

It's almost like white, middle class people who are into idpol feel the need to appropriate some "opressed" identity in order to belong in their little circles.

This is what happens when you consider "opression" by itself to be the a virtue.

The marriage of liberal politics and gay identity caused me a lot of unnecessary pain when I was younger, I look forward to more conservative gay activism changing that. Straight liberal ladies are nobody's ally.

Same. I’m not a conservative, but I am definitely not a liberal and I want nothing to do with liberalism.

I was going to write out a long comment on this post, then got distracted by the other things in the sub going on. If I get a chance I'll get to it. I read over half of the 40-page document that this post is based on. Some great things in it; a few not-so-great things. But it's certainly better than most of the inaccurate takes I hear pundits make about LGBTQ demographic statistics...
