Gays and lesbians also do things separate from one another, yes. There's no animosity or forced exclusion however, because we shockingly have the decency not to include ourselves in spaces that are not for us.

I think they are missing the main point: by definition, L's aren't trying to force G's to have sex with them or vice-versa.

You could argue about what the B's are trying to do, but for the most part if everybody is up front about intentions (sex vs. relationship) I think it's easy to get along with B.

T, on the other hand...

Exactly. We respect each other’s boundaries. As we should. There’s a time and place for us together, and a time and place for ourselves.

Why would I ever want to drop the G? Who else will I watch Ab Fab reruns with?

On the real, we all have our own issues and I’m fine with giving space to those and expecting to receive it in turn. That being said, we’re unified by being same-sex attracted and firmly believe this is why we should help each other when we can. T can die mad about not having anything to actually do with us.

There is already an r/lgdroptheb. Funnily enough, reddit never banned it for "promoting hate" like a certain other sub.. I wonder why? 🤔

I think those "drop the G" "Drop the L" "Drop the B" are nothing more than attempts by T to cause conflict and infighting inside the LGB community to drive the attention away from them.

Like, I don't even understand the point in dropping the L or B, when did bisexuals ever start spouting dangerous pseudo-science nonsense to enter opposite-sex spaces? When did they start advocating for child transition? When did they start pretending to be something they are not and force everybody to see them like that?

There might be a minor tension between L, G, and B but it will never be legitimate, serious or as extreme as dropping the T because this time, not only is LGB fighting against them but straight women too.

Several of the "drop the letter" subs were made by rDrama back when we all were still around on Reddit. One of my favorites was something like "GBTdroptheL", where everyone just went over-the-top ridiculous with blaming lesbians for every single possible thing that's ever gone wrong in the world.

r/lgdroptheb is genuine though, it was made by a lesbian who got into a squabble with a bisexual on our sub, and ran off to make a new sub.

User/mod has since deleted their account, so if someone wanted, they could possibly take it over using RedditRequest. Depends on if they actually added other mods before doing so.

I actually meant generally, not just on Reddit. It happens a lot where trans people dismiss any attempt at dropping the T by saying things like "LG also wanted to drop the B, see? They always fight inside the community so dropping the T isn't legitimate" They always try to create conflict and fight inside the LGB community once they realize that many LGB people are against them, they try to switch the attention to another group (usually the bisexuals) ignoring the fact that bisexuals, lesbians and gays are not systematic (I don't have a better word) hurtful the way the transgenderism is, some stereotypes about bisexuals cheating or faking their sexuality isn't enough to drop the B BUT child transition and taking over opposite-sex spaces on top of other things is definitely a good reason to drop the T.

Oh yeah, granted. Which is why reddit admin choose to not take action in these cases, very unlike whenever it concerns the T. It's like that "everyone loses their minds" Joker meme. That's also the reason for all those GCxxxPhobia accounts on Twitter. Sow discord; Divide and conquer.

I don't doubt there are a minority of members of every community that can do unsavory things like that, but it's not remotely as rampant like it is for the trans community, which I think is bordering on endemic.

There might be a minor tension between L, G, and B but it will never be legitimate, serious or as extreme as dropping the T because this time, not only LGB is fighting against them but also straight women.

Agreed. Also, I know personally wouldn't have a hissy fit and call for the removal of a sub that I could simply.. just never go to(what a concept!). I think we know who seems incapable of doing that and tries to have the entire internet scrubbed of all criticism for their sake.

100%. They're running this campaign right now on ovarit, actually.

Wait, really? Curious, do you have any links to examples?

I know we had a conversation a while back about bad agents' tactics used to subvert online forums. Sounds like an example of that?

[–][deleted] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

From what I understand, they are doing that because they are mad about "bihet women" in lesbian spaces, and they generally blame the B for the current situation with the T. They think most bi people are faking it for attention.

This is a screenshot saved from GenderCynical: https://www.reddit.com/r/GenderCynical/comments/psd2cb/biphobia_on_ovarit_looks_like_lgb_is_already/.

It could be a TRA psyop -- I've seen a few TRAs brag about pilfering Ovarit codes -- but I doubt it.

"bihet women"

This phrase is a massive red flag. Anytime I've seen someone use it unironically, they've turned out to be deeply misogynistic and/or biphobic.

It could be a TRA psyop -- I've seen a few TRAs brag about pilfering Ovarit codes -- but I doubt it.

Yeah, I could see it going either way. A lot of radical feminists are biphobic. (And homophobic.) And that's not just from TRAs making them look bad; Julie Bindel and other radfem leaders have been shitting on bisexual women for decades.

edit: Also thanks for the example link!

    Rule 4. Disallowed Language

Our sub seeks to champion LGB people of a variety of backgrounds, and want all of our LGB users to feel welcome. We suggest using the following terminology instead: trans-identified (fe)male, trans (wo)man, trans natal (fe)male, trans people, FTM / MTF

Because bisexuals are opposite-sex attracted, which makes you guys "privileged", according to the Reddit admins. Reddit also needs to highlight potentials for slippery slopes, so as to scare bisexual normies from supporting LGBAlliance and similar organisations.

    [–]reluctant_commenter 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Just in case it's not clear: "drop the B" is dumb as fuck. As a lesbian woman, I would way rather hang out in LGB communities, and also in communities just for LB women.

I agree with the other comments suggesting that the trans movement has jumped on promoting division among LGB people. Just my view as a non-bisexual, but I think that if trans people really cared about bisexual people, they would respect the boundaries of bisexual people who aren't attracted to and/or don't want to date trans people.

While I suspect there will probably always be some low-level squabbles, but at the end of the day I think the genuine attraction between homosexuals and bisexuals will always keep both groups coming back XD

    [–]MarkJeffersonTight defenses and we draw the line 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Thanks for the sentiment. I rarely hear TRAs mention many bi issues past the GC topic. We and a lot of other groups are just convenient talking points for them to utilize in their arguments for sexual coercion against homosexuals. There's a reason they made a GCbiphobia account instead of a general biphobia account.

    [–]reluctant_commenter 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

No problem. I hear you on being used as a talking point; drives me crazy when gay or any same sex attracted people are!

There's a reason they made a GCbiphobia account instead of a general biphobia account.

    Ooof, that's a good point.

    [–][deleted] 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Yes, sometimes the L and the G are separate and we don't freak out about it. There's not a bunch of lesbians protesting gay bath houses for not letting us in for example. Just like gay men aren't lining up to demand entry into lesbian specific groups. Unlike the TQ+ who can't stand to not be invited to every single thing to ever exist. Sometimes places just aren't meant for you.

    [–]PenseePansyBio-Sex or Bust 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

And each of LGB's letters need to be separate sometimes! That is, we've got to have spaces which are reserved for a single sexual orientation-- lesbian-only, gay men-only, bi people-only. To address those things that aren't applicable to the other letters. It's just that this should still be done within LGB-- like, as a subgroup thereof. The same way that, within any relationship, each person needs their "alone time", you know? And their own group of friends. But this doesn't keep you from being part of a couple. In fact, it's probably what enables you to be. Healthy boundaries keep the relationship strong. If you ALWAYS have to do EVERYTHING together... that's probably not a good sign.

    [–]HelloMomo 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This is supposed to be fearmongering, I suppose, but actually I find it comforting. Yeah, we could all go our own ways—and that's a good thing! That means it's not a forced teaming. The alliance is a choice. We don't owe each other. If one group started hurting others, anyone could leave and they would be justified in doing so.

Regardless of our differences, homosexuals and bisexuals are willing to unite to stop this TQ-insanity because we know it is insidious. Yeah, there will always be homosexuals who don’t like bisexuals and vice versa, but we don’t go around pretending that we all get along with each other. We just want to be left alone, something which TRAs won’t grant us.
