As he stripped, I was shocked. He revealed his vagina. I won’t lie, I handled it poorly. I threw up all over my own bed…literally threw up…

LMAOOO I wonder if that ever happens in the yaoi trans guys love so much

Dear Am I the Asshole,

I was reading about a tranman showing his vagina to a gay man and when the gay man said he threw up on his bed after seeing said vagina, I laughed so loud I spooked the cat. AITA?

I'm a trans gay man myself and keep a rule to explain that Im trans to men im interested in at the very start. It keeps ME safe by showing me who they are as a person, like if theyre transphobic or not, and it gives THEM a chance to tell me hey thats not my thing and we can go our ways before starting anything.

Finally some common fucking sense from a trans person.

And then there's TRA idiocy like this:

You arent transpobic. However remember that trans ppl experience violnece against them at a alarming rate so telling someone that pre getting to know them sometimes isnt an option.

Why is it better to trick someone into dates, then tell them afterwards than to just be up front about it from the start? You're a lot more likely to get hurt if someone feels like you violated their consent through lies than if you're just some random they talked to once. It is in no way safer to trick people.

Well, only a little bit lol. Pretending she's a gay man is still not common sense.

I hate to nitpick, but worth observing.

Yeah, some common sense, not a whole lot, but more than the average.

Some common sense in her delusion.

Damn this shit is getting old. She's lucky he didn't react in some other way—what an asshole (her).

ever since I was a teenager the look of a vagina has made me physically sick

I have no clue how common this reaction to an opposite sex's genitalia is in the world, but it immediately made me wonder if there's a history of SA in his life, perhaps from someone female. That's a pretty intense reaction.

[–]reluctant_commenter 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

To be fair, he did say:

ever since I was a teenager the look of a vagina has made me physically sick, and that, along with some alcohol and the shock, just caused me to lose my dinner.

Not saying your conjecture is unreasonable! I mean, if he did have that history, then I certainly wouldn't blame him for not mentioning it on a controversial Reddit post where he might've gotten torn to shreds. But I could honestly see the reasons he gave as being enough to elicit that reaction-- for some people, anyway.

Well yeah. It's just that he highlighted the "physically sick" part without any qualifiers. He might have amplified the degree of sickness in this instance, but the potential for that visceral reaction apparently precedes any such exacerbation.

I suppose someone could just react that way w/o a trauma history. I sure am glad I don't, either way. Perhaps it's the genital-aesthetic version of misophonia.

Thank goodness. Lots of support in the comments. This sub must be outside the range of the TRA tentacles.

Thanks for linking. Honestly so sanity-restoring to read the (removed, unfortunately, because the whole comment chains got removed) comments defending OP.

so much comedy too lmao:

First of all that’s a really extra reaction. Sounds like it’s from a movie. Be less dramatic in life. And second why can’t you just do him in the butt instead of the vagina? If everything else was manly enough for you to be into then do him like you’d do any other guy

No

You’d see the paper bag. Let’s not be childish permalinkparentcontexthide replies (1)author-focusas-ofpreserve message mods [–] offisirplz10 points2 days, 1 hour ago [removed] by mod

What? The paper bag avoids the part you don't want to see. Same with what you're claiming. permalinkparentcontexthide replies (1)author-focusas-ofpreserve message mods [–] kzapwn-1 points2 days, 1 hour ago [removed] by mod

Lol it’s not the same. What you’re proposing is ridiculous

that's some awesome trolling, calling them childish...

Jesus christ. Poor guy. What a huge betrayal. I hope he'll be okay. That is just beyond fucked up.

Fucking hell. Disgusting how these entitled straight people are practically enacting conversion therapy on us. I swear to god, I hope stories like this make it in the history books. With the truth told, not some "wrongthink"-corrected ideology-sopping version.

Welcome to the world of sexual abusers. They have no sensitivity, neither good will when handling these encounters. It just made me realize that If a dominant society LET's people traumatize, exploit and sexually abuse others, THEY WILL. It made me lose trust in humans. They will, and also kick you out of YOUR work and call you Evil, without even blinking, And enjoying the increasing social status. What's next? in 2023 what will be immoral? if you reject animal sex?

They seem to actually believe their own hype that it isn't an issue. What a c*nt to do that to someone

Saw this earlier and glad it was posted here. I am banned over there but still lurking.

Someone said they (paraphrasing) "never see gay people dealing with this" "how unusual!"

How much denial are they in? I wish it WASN'T common but as we know this is happening more by the hour.

The fact that OOP keeps referring to her with "he/him" even after discovering that she has a vagina disgusts me.
