I find it interesting that TRAs always rage about particular US states doing something to "trans" youth, but they never seem to bring up Sweden or Finland finding no evidence to support youth transition and subsequently stopping it. Is it because they just don't give a shit about anything outside the English speaking world or is it because it'd require them to address the reasons why Sweden and Finland stopped?

Particularly weird since they usually hold Nordic countries up on a pedestal. Though that's likely part of the reason, it's a lot harder for them to just scream transphobia into the void about countries they themselves have put forward as progressive paradises.

I think it’s a combination of all of these things. I’m American and so many of the woke people I know really like pretending to be worldly and educated. However, most of them can’t tell you basic things like the capital of Sweden or even one Finnish work of literature. They’re people who think they’re gazing through a telescope, yet haven’t even managed to put on reading glasses. So, it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if they didn’t realize these policies were in place.

If they did know, they probably don’t want to talk about it because it means actually addressing the issue and admitting the Nordic countries aren’t some utopia that mirrors their every whim.
