She doesn’t love you for you. She loves you for what you represent for her and her identity. That’s not true love. Sorry dude. Show yourself the love you deserve and make space for a person that wants you completely no matter what your physical being looks like.

consider a queerplatonic relationship ! it’s essentially a committed relationship similar to dating but without some of the romantic/s*xual elements, and you can see other partners because it isn’t dating. just an idea.

Have you tried reframing the concept of friendship so you feel less rejected? That's what I do! It's very healthy and normal.

This is a bullshit toxic idea. "Love" is an illusion. Its healthiest correlate in the real world is a relationship built on mutual respect, shared history, shared values, often shared interests, and in the case of romantic "love", mutual sexual attraction. In other words, it is conditional on two people having something to offer each other.

I wasn't able to experience a healthy romantic relationship until I fully understood that it is fundamentally based not only on what your partner has to offer to you, but also (and perhaps more importantly) what you have to offer your partner.

What did she expect? No really, what was the expectation here? If her partner stayed she'd probably have increasingly insane demands while becoming less and less attractive to her partner. There is no win for her partner in this, quiting the relationship is the only path. High likelihood she'd try to cry bully her partner into identifying as bi or more likely straight.

She expected to have her cake and eat it too. It's one of the standard fittings that comes with a trans identity.

To be frank, this post was surprisingly sane. OOP understands that she can't have her and be trans at the same time and it seems that all that she wants is to vent about her feelings or how to deal with it. For now, I'm not getting exactly red flags about her as long as she doesn't go psycho and forces her to stay or guiltrips her.

The comments were mostly sane too, I guess, except for that comment about the "queerplatonic nonsense" and "she doesn't love you blah blah blah" but they all got backlash. Of course, I'm setting the bar so low since it's the TQ+ people we are talking about, I'm not exactly expecting the average maturity or sanity but it's better than most.

But something I noticed, there is a 17 year old girl in there who transitioned, I know that this happens a lot nowadays but holy shit, I have no doubt she's going to end up in r/detrans I can't believe we let stuff like this happen.

Sounds like she's (at least trying to) accept the fact that she and her gf are going to have to break up if OP is going to continue her transition into a "man". Better than keeping her gf trapped in a sinking relationship where the gf is going to have to spend all of her mental energy "affirming" her gf and probably having to falsely come out as bisexual or even straight just to coddle her feelings.

IDK how common lesbian trans widows are, but given the amount of butch lesbians transitioning, I feel like it's got to be way higher than we know.

Idk, they're are only like 12 lesbians in existence it seems, and I don't know then we'll but they sure don't seem to be hateful to me.
