I've had this experience several times lately where I'm reading something technical, and I see that the username and avatar for the post implies a female, but the tone and subject matter of the post are conspicuously masculine. So I click on the username to see a profile and sure enough, it's a man in a wig with a girl's name.

Just no... you're not a woman. Women don't get into flame wars about Python or Subaru WRX mods or whatever. Cute wig, though.

My husband and I have a joke between us, "Let's just sit on the couch and tell each other how pretty the other is."

In our decade together we have not ever done this, not once. But this is exactly the ideation expressed in that thread.

(We do have frequent enough sex but that's a different thing altogether.)
