I understand the sentiment, but speaking as a biology student, women do produce natural testosterone, just a lot less of it than men. It has a role in mood regulation as well as being one of the hormones that fluctuates throughout the menstrual cycle.

I read further on Giggle's history and apparently "trans women" were allowed at first,but they were later banned from the website because they made KILL TERFs profiles when they joined. They really are their own worst enemy.

Dumb question, but are trans users more lucrative for them or something? With this post and the other one, they seem quite hostile to their lesbian userbase. Is there an economic reason that they're alienating their larger demographic, instead of avoiding to comment and taking on an "everyone is welcome" approach?

I don't claim to understand their funding, but some of these tech companies are vulnerable to pressure from TRAs, who, as we know, are massively over-represented in tech. There's no doubt that TRAs are purity-testing all these companies and probably threaten to cause trouble for them if they fail to comply with their demands. Just look at how Stonewall in the UK was behaving. They were practically running a racket where if your company's policies didn't please them, they would put you on their "Bad" list.

Is it possible to select which races/ethnicities you prefer on HER? As I've been saying since 2019, to weed out 99.9% of men identifying as women... don't select white/caucasian as a preference lol I've never seen any men identifying as women on dating apps because white is not my preference.

I saw once that filtering by height filters out a lot of transbians since they're massive units (same for gay men filtering out the tiny women on testosterone). Sucks for tall women and short men though.

I think short guys can be really hot. My profile basically says something like "good luck on your journey discovering your gender! Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be a good match!"

It sounds bitchy and passive aggressive, but I'm not gonna begrudge that transmasc who finds the love of her life on the app....it's just not gonna be me. So far no trouble. Don't know if it's a coincidence, but I've been getting a better caliber of response since I made it clear I wasn't interested in meth users or closeted married men AT ALL, and gave a much more passive "no trans" message toward the end. Wish me luck. There is now a very concerted effort on getting gay men and lesbians to accept trans people sexually, and it's breaking out into the mainstream. I'm sorry that its come to tech companies and glib, corporate LGBTQIAPP2S+ non profits dictating the terms of gay men and lesbian women's social and romantic lives. People kvetch about PinkNews on here a lot, but it's not like out and the Advocate are all that different, they preach the same stuff. Any UK users know what happened with Boyz magazine? What's interesting is that on most apps people who you have filtered out based on your own preferences (and therefore are never shown in your own queue) are still shown your profile and given the chance to like your profile. I know this because when I use apps, I rarely swipe through my own queue, but go straight to the profiles of people who have already liked me and swipe from there. And I see plenty of people whose profiles clearly state biodata outside of my stated preferences. It gives credence to the people who say that the algorithms on dating apps are purposely set up for failure to keep people using the apps.

For reference, I see the least shenanigans on Hinge. Tinder is a cesspool but Bumble seems to be doing its darndest to get there, and funny enough I've gotten better results from Tinder than from Bumble. Coffee Meets Bagel is a dud, and has been the worst in my experience. Straight people rave about it, but it has built-in in flaws for lesbians including nowhere to display sexual orientation, barely anyone on it, and no one who is is attractive.
