now we're having identical arguments against the same hateful ideology?

You literally aren't. You're facing push back because you're asking for people to ignore biology, deny their sexual orientations, and bow down to every ridiculous demand you come up with. You're facing push back because when a woman says no you people go absolutely fucking insane and threaten her with death and rape. You're facing push back because your position is fundamentally unstable and not based in reality.

Having to prove that trans people aren't predators

The fundamental problem isn't whether or not trans people are predators(though a large number are, looking at you r/actuallesbians). The problem is that ANY man whether he's trans or not can simply claim he's a woman to gain access to women's spaces. We've seen this a bunch in prisons where men will claim to be women, get into women's prison, then as soon as their prison sentence is up go right back to being men.

There was literally nothing in the gay rights movement that allowed male predators into women's spaces with such ease.

that we're not trying to trans other prople

You literally are. That's why there's an increasing number of detransitioners and will likely be many, many more in years to come. You're trying to trans little children who simply play with the "wrong" toys or like the "wrong" color. Of course when you tell little kids they can't do a thing they like unless they're the opposite sex they'll start wishing they were the opposite sex. You're a bunch of regressive assholes pushing conservative gender roles and stereotypes on people.

Of course homophobia still exists and is prevalent, but what I mean is, trans people are the main target of moral outrage now.

Yeah, the homophobia still exists, a huge amount of it coming from TRAs.

Pro-LGB: You're fine just as you are, no matter what anyone says.

Pro-T: You need to change your name, change your pronouns, change your birth certificate, take puberty blockers, spend a lifetime taking hormones, spend a fortune buying beauty products, cut anyone out of your life who doesn't validate your identity, and consider dangerous and irreversible surgery, to be your ~authentic self~.

Sure, while LGB was accused of predation it was mostly unfounded, save for a few twisted individuals that happen to be gay. In contrast, we are actively seeing predators that openly walk amongst the rest of the T, so I'd argue there's more of a basis to these generalizations. Even if they are just that, generalizations.

While I feel LGB did end up leading to a slippery slope, we had no idea that our organizations would be greedy enough to abandon us and look for a new cash cow after we got the right to marry. The T+ movement has already opened the door to the transage movement, as we saw with that one MTF pedophile who claimed he was a small child, and queer theory in general, which is all about destigmatization of sexuality, even if it's repugnant or harmful.

I think there might be something wrong with your "civil rights movement" if people from all walks of life are opposing it.

Remember when LGBTDropTheT first formed on reddit and we had liberals and conservatives who didn't agree on much else agreeing that TRAs were pushing very bad ideas and policies?

Same, I barely saw the old sub a few weeks before it was censored.

It was kinda cool seeing people with different opinions uniting on an issue

It really was. Just like SuperStraight (R.I.P.)... seeing straight men posting memes about being in solidarity with lesbians over their mutual rejection of dick? That was a beautiful thing. Miss it so much :(

And that's why it had to be destroyed.

How I remember this happening in America: LGB people fought tooth and nail for over sixty years to have equal legal rights and better acceptance. We got these after lots of work and by people seeing we’re just regular people. We still get to deal with homophobia regularly though.

Until roughly 2015, my experience with trans people was that they were HSTS and very few and far between. (My college campus of 6,000 had two transmen and one transwoman. All were HSTS.) Seemingly over night a bunch of straight people with clear fetishes or mental illness showed up with demands like “getting to beat the fuck out of a woman in a sport is a right,” “if you won’t fuck me you’re a bigot,” “deny reality or be publicly shamed,” “my feelings trump others’ safety.”

They can try and rewrite history all they want, but the people who lived through what actually happened aren’t just going to forget it.

Exactly. Let's keep those two very different timescales in mind. That's something that this Reddit post conveniently neglected to mention.

They can try and rewrite history all they want, but the people who lived through what actually happened aren’t just going to forget it.

And worth adding:

  1. There are way more trans-identified people than there are LGB people.

  2. The vast majority of trans-identified people are young and didn't live through this, whereas LGB people-- especially L and G-- are older.

The younger crowd may very well think that the gay rights movement DID happen that quickly. I wouldn't know if I hadn't happened to take a couple of good history classes (or heard more details from people on this sub!).

I feel like a weirdo sometimes, having the perspective of being in the younger generation and seeing all these people drinking the koolaid. And yet not having lived as a young adult during a time when it was different. I truly believe the people around me do not even think about the talking points they're parroting. Or maybe they're just trying to ignore any questioning thoughts because there seems to be such a consensus on "trans rights." The right to pressure GNC kids into taking hormones and getting surgeries because the general population can't cope with their existence...

Gay people only wanted the right to live their lives in ways that affect absolutely no one else.

Trans people want to start chemical (and potentially surgical) treatments on minors, demand everyone else in the world participate in their identity, and redefine words in ways that twist reality and logical understanding. Anything can be anything if it identifies as such.

If a confused child is mistaken about being gay, no harm no foul. If a confused child is mistaken about being trans, they potentially fuck up their body forever. Gender identity and sexual orientation are not even in the same wheelhouse.

And part of us arguing against the slippery slope was to draw a line in the sand and promise, "this far and no further." All this transgender ideology makes it look like they were right about the slippery slope... And we've all seen the seeds being planted for what's coming next even after the gender issue...

What seeds are those? The Pedo stuff...? Or is it even worse 👀

Pedo and Bestiality probably.

There's a difference between wanting to kiss someone of the same sex and LITERALLY HURTING YOUR BODY IRREVERSABLY AND GETTING OFF ON PEOPLE WALKING ON EGGSHELLS AROUND YOU. Natural desire vs outright delusion.

People also used to say shit about how we shouldn't entertain homosexuals and feed into their delusions and that if you just tell your kids being gay isn't normal they will grow up "right." Same exactly shit they say about trans people now.

Except that's actually true with "trans kids": 9 in 10 grow out of their gender dysphoria. Edit: and ironically it doesn't involve convincing them that they aren't normal, but rather the opposite, that they are fine just the way they are.

Creating yourself a problem you could easily avoid by making your research, dealing with reality and using the help of an actual therapist isn't what LGB people did or are doing. And the backlash you'll hopefully face soon will be absolutely reasonable.

Yes, Jonathan/Jessica Yaniv really helped you out with that one, not to mention the Wi spa character with the sex offender record.

My god, there are so many more examples and these people ignore it.

We ARE not the same. How could you delude yourself to the point where you think "loving the same sex" = "Getting surgery, getting hormones you are not supposed to get to hack yourself, getting weird pronouns, strong support for making up genders and sexualities the way you want, encouraging minors to transition, demanding to enter spaces you are not supposed to enter, literally mentally ill...etc" and many more?

Being homosexual/bi means that you just love people of the same sex, literally affecting no one else and most of things happen between you and your romantic partner. Being trans is completely different.

Except you LITERALLY ARE. There are entire subreddits like /r/egg_irl literally dedicated to it. And therein is the difference. People are BORN gay. Over half of trans teens detransition in their 20s. Gay people can't stop being gay even if they tried.

People have a soft spot for forbidden love stories.

The Dr Mengele thing is a much harder sell.
