This is really sad news, I really appreciated them being a strictly LGB source. I wish they would tell us more about what's happening, I feel like they're holding back.

They're a one-year old news website, of course they will struggle for support. Yes, cancel culture is coming after them (and us, and LGBA, etc etc). They will need donations to keep going when not funded or privately invested in, totally understand.

There's some context we're missing, and I definitely feel it, there's something between the lines that's not being said. What it is though? Why drag LGBA for not offering *enough* support? Why not put out another round of crowdfunding/ask for donations again?

To close like this feels like giving up, and also like an extinction burst. There's something sorta attention-grabby about it.

I'm kind of curious as to why this needed to be a big production in the first place, honestly. Why attempt to make a big news outlet? A few LGB part-time volunteers on a blog would've been a more sustainable start, would it not?

Was going to ask the same thing. Obviously a big outlet would require a big investment and no corporate entity would ever back this.

I don't know their motivations for beginning, this is just me guessing.

I'd say that they tried to create one of the very few LGB-only sites left. AfterEllen was retained by lesbians, and bravo to them ... but there's still no strictly LGB news source for all of us, which also includes gay men and bisexuals.

They may have gotten too big for their britches though. Maybe they're getting so much negativity and pushback that their founders and even their writers are feeling overwhelmed and can't go on?

Again, just guessing.
