I think you'd be pretty hard-pressed to find one person who says that any man dating a trans man is exclusively gay. If someone is going to call a gay man straight because he's dating a trans man (read: female), they're also going to call a heterosexual man straight because he's dating a trans man. This person is conflating two different people into one person and calling it a gotcha.

Yea it's basically both gay men and straight men saying "a man who is sexually attracted to a female who has androgenized her body through taking exogenous testosterone has a different sexual orientation than me." Both are claiming "not mine" with respect to any man interested in her while both are reacting to different things that make her fall outside of their sexual orientation. It's more like she was within straight men's sexual orientation and then did things to her body that would make at least the vast majority of straight men no longer sexually attracted to her. It didn't gain her admission to gay men's sexual orientation. She just gained admission to the sexual orientation of men who are attracted to females who have androgenized their bodies.

And let's be real, she does look straight out of the uncanny valley. Her appearance is jarring.

I've always questioned the sexuality of men who are attracted to masculine or extremely gender nonconforming women (such as myself). I simply cannot fathom why a heterosexual male would want to fuck a very masculine/gnc woman who looks (and/or acts) more like a man than a woman.

Straight men shouldn't be attracted to masculinity. I also don't think gay women should be attracted to masculinity. And I'm supposed to be gender critical 😂 not when it comes to sexual attraction!

Honestly- vagina is vagina, regardless of identity. If you’re a man sleeping with a female, you aren’t gay. Because that literally is the opposite of gay lol. It’s that simple to me. At the end of the day, we can be attracted to all sorts of various traits, it will always come back to p or v (or both) in my opinion.

I don't know if there's a term for attraction to transed females, but the scientific term for attraction to males who have medically transitioned is gynandromorphophilia or GAMP.

To answer this woman’s question, when a man claiming to be straight is dating a transgender "man", I don’t consider that man gay at all. His partner does have a vagina, XX chromosomes and other characteristics females typically have. I am consistent in my approach to this topic.

For the record, I can see why a straight man would not date a transgender "man". The testosterone pills and the surgery do erode away some of the female characteristics that attract heterosexual men and homosexual women.

I don't know. I'm willing to concede that it is complicated. I kind of don't care what this person identifies as, nor do I care about the identity of their partner.

All I care about is that transmen stop trying to get into the pants of gay men who don't want to sleep with them. Similarly, that transwomen stop trying to coerce men and women into sucking their ladydick (or whatever it is they have).

In either scenario, I’m going to think her boyfriend is a minority segment of the bisexual community. No gay man wants to date a female. No straight man wants to date a female who is taking hormonal and surgical steps to look like a man. Most bi men aren’t going to be into this arrangement either.

Also, note how gay gets to be some nebulous term but the straight guy is firmly “heterosexual” in her query.
