Do you typically need to ask an employee for condoms? I wouldn't think so. I can't see any reason to ask the employee that except to specifically make her uncomfortable. Which is such a straight guy thing to do. Straight guys LOVE making inappropriate comments like that to women when the woman is required to be nice as part of her job.

Why do they always think they are cat girls?

20+ years ago you might have had to ask at the counter for them, but not anymore. I doubt many of these catgorlz have ever needed to buy condoms at all though.

So, not how they're actually bought, just pointless, borderline sexual harassment being celebrated by a bunch of straight men on what is nominally a lesbian subreddit. Got it.

If you go to a gas station or convenience store they might keep stuff like that behind the counter because that stuff is more likely to be stolen especially by kids who don't actually need the condoms but want to try them on and see if they are comparable.
