It’s just an absolute mystery why she fees unsafe… no self awareness on their part.

Narcissists literally cannot fathom something being their fault.

Who could feel safe when every space is full of perverted men who result to threats of violence the moment any woman dares suggest she's not into males?

Is it just me, or are more Redditors becoming 'TERFY'? I've noticed these sentiments on multiple subreddits now, and it seems they're not being countered the way they used to be.

With the pandemic and people being online now more than ever, I think Reddit (as users) is slowly showing a shift over the past 2 years. I think we're seeing non-LGB people taking notice of things they didn't pay attention to previously, and seeing that there is a large segment of LGB people who don't agree with the insanity of the past 5-10 years and what "the alphabet people" movement has become.

From a US-perspective, Reddit has been being astroturfed since at least 2015 - the great Trump/Clinton presidential campaign that drew lines in the sand. Our LGB movement has been getting hit side-by-side with the TQ+ takeover, but your average user wasn't paying attention to us since gay marriage was legalized. The wackier the alphabet movement became, the more they pulled away, and redirected on the Republican/Democrat fight and just let our thing happen.

2020 was an insane year in the USA, I don't think we need a recap of EVERYTHING, but the astroturfing was hard-and-heavy on Reddit. Then subs like GC and T_D got banned. Whether they loved or hated GC, women across Reddit knew it happened and were talking. Whether they loved or hated T_D, everyone from every political spectrum knew about T_D. Shortly after, the big LGB purge happened too, which was our sub, TL, RightwingLGBT, etc etc. That didn't make quite as much of an impact, but there were definitely non-LGB people who noticed because we were "based" and now we're gone.

After that we got Superstraight in 2021, and woah boy, did that cause ripples. Some were in it for real, some for memes and drama, some because they hate trans people, and some because it validated what LGB like us have been going through. There were a few heteros who got a little salty about LGB in that sub, but overwhelmingly, they said "I didn't realize there was a whole bunch of LGB experiencing this too" and opened their eyes.

Superstraight gave us allies, and they're still speaking about it even to this day on Reddit. About the same time, the Aimee/Ashton Challenor scandal broke, and that shifted the perspective of even hardcore TQ+ supporters. They heard about a pedo problem on Reddit being protected under the alphabet umbrella, and users are not letting anyone forget about it. I still see some copypasta about it, or people referring to Reddit as "Peddit/Preddit".

Little-by-little, real people are seeing the propaganda machine that Reddit has become. They're watching subs about real-life concerns being taken over with trans-inclusive pandering for no identifiable reason. They're seeing their game/animal meme subs being hit by astroturfing in the comments. When everyone is called a TERF or a bigot no matter what the perspective or subject matter is, people start questioning and fighting back.

Once Reddit goes public, I expect to see a huge shift in content (not for the better) - and then an exodus as people realize just how bad it's become and how there is no hope of it changing. It'll be Digg all over again. I hope M7 and D3 are prepared.

I mentioned Reddit in passing a few weeks ago to someone and she immediately responded, "Fuck Reddit. Aren't all of the moderators pedos?" She's a Gen-Z straight female performative ally for TQ+ and I did not expect that response from her but was actually pleasantly surprised. It was the first in the wild acknowledgment that I heard of reddit's pedo mod situation being a real thing, so that news is indeed spreading even among TQ+ supporters.

TrueOffMyChest gets a lot of its readers in people who were banned from OffMyChest, which is very woke. There's a bit of filter happening where those who end up on TOMC are more likely to have unsanctioned opinions.

I think the TERFiness is spreading, though. In part it's due to trans people themselves. Their constant demands, censorship, cancellations, etc. are being noticed by regular people and it's having the opposite-to-intended effect. More people are peaking.

They're so delusional that they don't even see that they're turning their allies against them.

Same. But still I am supportive of genuine trans people. I am just much more aware of the situation that not all people with trans in their bio are trans in the way I thought - after long psychiatric screening and diagnosis - how naive of me.

I think there is also some self-selection because people quickly learn what they can and cannot say on the "main" subreddits. Some people learn by watching others receive downvotes and a pile-on in the comments and others learn by trial and error by unwittingly mentioning the unmentionable and being hit by the banhammer. In any case, once you find yourself on the other side of that line for one of the unmentionables (i.e. contravening reddit's go-to mantras taken as gospel) then you are more likely to start the questioning process in other areas. Peaking on an issue is kind of a never-ending process that forces you to constantly re-calibrate. There's always more. And having the veil lifted really stays with you.

Already removed by the reddit gestapo. There needs to be legislation for public engagement online to be protected. If what's being said is legal, and it's effectively a public opinion forum, this kind of thought policing is deeply wrong.

It's public in the same way a bar or a store is public. Go ahead, try campaigning inside of a WalMart.

As long as anyone can create a website and voice their opinions, I would not be in favor of such legislation.

All the top comments on that thread are lesbians being harrassed by male-presenting men on dating apps, and gay men complaining about being accused of transphobia for not being attracted to the opposite sex. But... but... we were told This Never Happens!

I block anyone who isn’t male on grindr. There are a lot if them, in my area at least, I feel “displaced” because of the straight women who see me as a fetish and view me in contempt for not being attracted

Funny how as the years went by, we were more and more allowed to accept and come in term with our same-sex attraction in the west, only to have it taken away by those hysterical assholes who claim that they're the legitimate LGB people.

The asshole who talked about breaking legs actually retweeted something defending fucking North Korea, saying how Westerners have it all wrong and life isn't so bad there. So edgy. 🙄

Maybe he can go live there and leave the rest of us alone then. Little access to the outside world, a starvation diet, and an all-encompassing police state aren’t that bad, right?
