I never received the lovebombing or sense of community because I came out as gay later in life during Generation Q and everywhere I went for resources and support I was met with some really sketchy gender nonsense that I found immediately disorienting and just off. I was old enough and had lived enough life to notice something was awry and self-supporting enough that I didn't need them like a young person would just to get on their own two feet.

Still, my understanding is that the GSAs of yore are way different now than the fledgling ones in my day, which I believe were actually about support. I believe what exists today aren't even "GSAs," so I would prefer this chart use different terminology. I understand why vulnerable LGB people who have been cast out would be motivated to recast their sexual orientation as a badge of honor as an initial coping mechanism, but for there to ever be peace or normalcy, the only answer is for sexual orientation to be seen as neutral. When it comes to gender identity, well, they need to first define that in some meaningful way for there to be any appropriate way to provide support there.

Completely agree. I'd only add... I think there's a big distinction to be made between telling LGB kids, "You have value as a human being, exactly as you are, existing with this immutable characteristic" and "Your value as a human being comes from this immutable characteristic that you have." The latter is breeding grounds for narcissism, IMO. I never fell into the second line of thinking and I question whether it is beneficial even in the slightest. People get mad sometimes when you make this sort of distinction, saying that it's splitting hairs, but I don't think that it is.
