Ugh it makes me facepalm how so many straight men fetishise being a lesbian. Seriously, why would you want to have 1-2% of the female population as your dating pool instead of 98%? Not to mention all the privilege that comes with being heterosexual.

I think most straight men have barely thought about the actual experience of being lesbian at all. They likely have no idea how much their mental image of "lesbian" has been formed by other straight people, mostly straight men. "Lesbian" media is dominated by non-trans straight men, "lesbian" forums like subreddits are dominated by transgender-identifying straight male autogynephiles, "lesbian" academic circles are usually full of "political lesbians" many of whom are straight women.

Straight people don't have to think about the dating pool size problem. It drives me up the wall, I think it's honestly one of the most difficult things about being homosexual.

Yes, and I guess the women who date trans identifying males are likely to be straight, heteroflexible or bisexual anyway, so perhaps this doesn't really affect them in the same way as actual natal lesbians.

These kinds of men already have zero percent chance with women. They'd rather be rejected by 1-2% than by 98%. And as a plain old incel they're made fun of but now they get to be a stunning and brave incel with valuable oppression points

yeah i second that, with that "plan" they can blame women for their eternal celibacy while being openly weirdos, invading space dedicated to women (and make women feel like shit whitout real consequences) and have the sympathy of the public.
