Wokes love the idea of lavender marriage between lesbians and gay men where they actually love each other and have sex. Cause actually being homosexual, bi or hetero is not special enough, you need to be the most contradictory thing possible.

I haven't heard much about lavender marriages but I have always assumed that it was a marriage between a lesbian and a gay man who were close friends (outside of Hollywood ofc). And if they wanted children, they would seek fertility treatments or something like that so that they wouldn't need to have sex. Is there someone who knows more and could tell me if my assumption are correct or if I have got everything wrong?

I know a lesbian couple who found a gay man to be their sperm donor. I know they definitely wanted a sperm donor of the same rather-uncommon ethnicity as them. I'm not sure if him being gay was important to them? Or maybe both parties being gay just made him more on board with the idea?

Their kids were conceived in the late 90s, and one of the wives is a nurse, so I'm guessing she DIYed it at home with a turkey baster, rather than going to a fertility clinic or something.

Mostly right. The ones I met were in very strategic relationships. Of course there was real friendship, but for legal purposes they were each there to be the safeguard in case of life emergencies, and they could also get spousal health insurance. The woman did not want her family to swoop down and take her away if she was in a bad accident; her "husband" could be there to make power-of-attorney decisions, funeral arrangements, etc.
