I went to school in a super homophobic area and was closeted well into college. If apps like Grindr had existed then and I logged on to discover a dude from my school larping as a lesbian, I would’ve been scared to death. I would’ve been worried about being outed to the entire school. I would’ve been fucking terrified the guy would harass me. I would’ve been up at night having anxiety attacks that I’d get blackmailed about it. I absolutely would’ve deleted my account and climbed further into the closet.

These girls think they’re sharing in on some big gay experience of being outed. (Spoiler alert: they aren’t coming out by announcing they like guys because fucking everyone expects girls to like guys.) They have zero awareness that they’re the straight bullies who are making the closeted gay guys uncomfortable with coming out.

I made the terrible, terrible mistake of scrolling through other posts on that sub, and the first one that came up was "I had my first gay threesome", with an explanation about how she and her AMAB boyfriend hooked up with a transmasc NB (i.e. a girl). SO. Chicky. You had a threesome. With your boyfriend. And another girl.

Sooooooo empowering.

I'm just...dead.

That guy will go to his grave laughing about it too.

Remember, they have to be on grindr to see you. Unless someone at your school is SO homophobic that they'd make a fake grindr account just to see who's gay (unlikely), the only 'new light' they're gonna see you in is 'potential boyfriend'

You mean like how you women are on a digital sexual space that was exclusively for men looking for who is gay like the homophobic trash you are?

Id throw my pics through face app or the like to change up my hair to make myself look a bit different and put that up, you get more people approaching you and you can just say oh that's just a cover here's a real pic (I'm not out in some parts of my life)

So further catfishing men who cannot consent to you and acting like you're somehow the victim?

What a ridiculous suggestion. Way to waste everyone's time.

I’m fine with this trade-off of being visible online, I’m just venting about being visible offline

Honey, what did you think would happen when you posted your picture on the internet for men to gawk over? Did you really think no one in the real world existed except for you and your wants, and strangers would honor it?

I honestly feel bad for her. She's only 19, and has no idea what she's doing. She's going to get totally fucked up mentally.

This is the dumb shit they all do constantly. Completely photoedited pictures which they use to claim "how can you think this is a man/woman????" Then they get mad about people leaving after the first date when they see you are literally a man/woman.

Hello fellow guize! I'm not out yet, so here's my profile pic in the meantime. Real one later.

I block any ftm’s I see on sight when I’m on grindr. Sadly they’re becoming more and more common, like if I’m horny and looking for sex, my thought isn’t “damn I feel like eating some pussy.” Like no offense my lesbeans, but I’m all about that sausage

That's a feature grindr has?? Is it free??? I know some apps make you pay for those kind of features

I haven't been on Her in years, but I'm pretty sure it would never have something like that.

Yeah, it does make you look at an ad though. And I think you have a limit of 5 blocks per day. Pretty unfortunate
