Maybe a little bit off-topic for a main post, so I thought I'd share it here: 4W article about Reddit's tolerance of transgender-excluding subreddits-- as long as they're porn subreddits.

While r/ActualLesbians – a subreddit alleging to be for lesbian support – frequently bars or brigades users from stating explicit same-sex attraction that "excludes" trans-identified males, r/Lesbians – a porn subreddit – doesn't allow pictures or videos of non-biological females.

Double standards.

It appears that two NPDs involved in an org I am a part of were conning each other whilst both of them were also trying to con me (that didn't work). It was...special. I made my exit. I am armed with popcorn and waiting for the inevitable clusterfuck. Other org members were successfully conned so I looked around at them, shook my head and walked away.

Oh god lol. I mean, when it's just one person, you can sometimes figure it out by just comparing notes with other people who've talked to them who got told a different story than you. But when there are two or more... then it gets really hard to figure out.

Yes. But crucially, you can still figure out who is getting played because they're toeing the NPD party line. It's just exponentially harder to convince multiple people they are total suckers, because they don't want to look at that. They make it about themselves instead of protecting the org. What made this even more fun was that the more skilled manipulator targeted the other manipulator (and succeeded despite the other one being warned—that was before the other one became obvious themselves as the second manipulator in the picture), before trying that same crap on the rest of the leadership. I was the only one who saw through it. And there was a mountain of evidence demonstrating the problem. They jammed their heads up their asses on purpose as far as I can tell.

Dumbfucks. :-)

Yup. I'm just quietly watching from the sidelines. "I told you so" should have sunk in months ago with this crew but it didn't. I guess they like looking terrible and waiting for even more abuse.

TumblrInAction mocks everything social media personalities try to take a stance for, even LGB. They're showing how ridiculous the internet was and has become.

Their sub/premise should not be considered supportive of our cause, even if some of their users may be. They are satire and ridicule, meant for people with a thick skin and who can enjoy some roasting, even of themselves and their own beliefs when featured.

TumblrInAction mocks everything social media personalities try to take a stance for, even LGB.

There is a lot of LGB support on TiA, though. It kind of surprises me to see it, but every time I've seen it come up in the last few months, they aggressively downvote homophobic comments and debate against them.

Generally speaking I agree, though; even if they have been more supportive recently, that's not the purpose of the sub, and I've seen them dismiss the good as well as the bad.
