She truly looks more miserable every time I see a picture of her

It's not news, but it is true that a lot of actors are not very well emotionally-adjusted people in real life. I understand the mechanism that makes some people idolize them, but I don't.

People really shouldn't worship celebrities of any kind.

She looks like she's constantly on the verge of breaking into tears. So broken.

This is so sad. I had such a crush on her, she was so damn pretty, it's really depressing end.

I agree. She destroyed her marriage, her appearance possibly her career for what?

Trying to fill the hollowness she feels at her core. Eventually she'll come to realise that all the attention in the world will never fill that void. And that's going to hurt for even more reasons now.

Yup. She says on the cover of time she finally feels whole. No Ellen you were brainwashed during your time working for vice that this is what you wanted. Acting not working out? Hollywood feeling like hollowed wood? Just leave and get help. She tragically looks as hollow as the grand daughter of one of my mom's friends who's become non binary. Seriously. She should've just left Hollywood for good with her wife and maybe reinvented herself back home in Canada done charity work. Maybe had kids and just left. Look at Ryan Reynolds he's had his Hollywood gotten his academy awards, been a mouthy super hero and a tiny great mouse detective and just lives quietly with Blake and their girls. Chris left back for Australia where he and Elsa live Again their three kids surfing the gold coast. Ellen's carreer as a woman wasn't stagnating. But if you feel hollow get help and find your fulfillment. Hollywood should be renamed to hollow wood. Not everyone's mental health becomes better by nipping and tucking genitalia away. For every Chaz, Buck, Blaire, there's so many more who are still miserable and insufferable especially in Hollywood. I mean look further at Paris, Nicole and now possibly even Britney Spears. They left Hollywood kind of. Britney thinking about becoming a writer, or a chef(can't say I'd blame her for never returning to music) Paris hosts her reality show podcast, and Nicole makes or sells stuff under house of Harlow. Even more deeply we have Cameron Diaz who at the height of everything: Oscars, roles with a host of who's who in the wood left to be a mom with Madden. She's looking truly truly happy. I don't think cutting was the answer Ellen needed a better therapist.

Sorry again for the essay but the world doesn't understand how soulless Hollywood can be. Look at Steven Page(no relation to Ellen fortune and fame top of his game till he found some crack cocaine. Now he's reinvented himself as a cracking solo man but bnl and everyone wanting front man wore him out.

This is definitely trans joy because its misery identifying as joy.

If this is trans joy what is trans misery 😬

The facade of trans joy? I’m pretty sure the souls of trans people are tormented just from the pain behind their smiles.

This simply does not look like healthy human behavior. I don't know what's harder to watch: Page wasting away and self-destructing or those blindly and unquestionably celebrating it for ideological reasons.

Oh they are very definitely not. Muscle implants are so bizarre to me. You can literally get a better version of it with no surgery if you just lift weights.

You need super low body fat to see visible abs, its not easy to achieve at all.

That looks like "what have I done" face. And that is, of course, the question.

Idle prediction: She snaps out of this and writes one hell of a book someday. (I certainly hope it's this trajectory rather than the self-loathing and self-harm that look like they might be possible here.)

Is she also chasing the fountain of youth? Because that's what transition is for a lot of people. A opportunity for someone to sculpt the time off of themselves while they change genders. They never trans up in age, only down; Acting younger than they are. I feel like Page is doing that with her teen boy thing.

[–]wafflegaffWoman. SuperBi. 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

A trans woman I know who is maybe 60-ish made some social media posts during the transition about 10 years ago and said it was like going through a second puberty. FWIW. Probably relates both to the hormones taken and some euphoria. She definitely was posting a lot at that time in ways that seemed more like a teenage girl. She's chilled out since then mostly. (She passes pretty well and I have to interact with her IRL so I'm not about to train myself back out of saying she/her, lest I slip and am banished, etc. She isn't actively "out" in the present day even though she didn't hide it on social media. So I am pretty sure a large portion of her current social circles don't know.)

[–]MarkJeffersonTight defenses and we draw the line 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

From your experience, I gather that not only does transition resemble a rebirth or 'second puberty' to some trans people, but their euphoria can be from a feeling of escapism from their old life if people end up treating them very differently afterwards. That's what individuals in a life rut/crisis tend to relish if they are seeking to shake their life up. That and an(other) opportunity to transgress social acceptability/norms. It's almost adolescent in its attitude. Maybe that's also why they so often model their behavior after how they think youth of the opposite sex behave. It sounds like that person you know has managed to sate that hunger for escapism and change so is satisfied the way they are now, and is settling down.

I'd say so but she's definitely fundamentally childish, just not in an abusive way; there's some definite narcissism there, though it's mostly at low levels. She didn't manage to keep a cis girlfriend for more than a short time last year, and I was not surprised, since she mostly talks about herself, and talks a lot. (The ex-GF is now nonbinary, but never mind.) Couldn't say if she's AGP or not. Hard to tell. Mostly, she's full of herself.
