My family are still celebrating Christmas and exchanging presents. Tomorrow or Tuesday I’m going shopping to buy presents. Also got a new phone yesterday, but my family agreed to put €200 towards it as their Christmas present to me so I’ll start using it Christmas Day. My current one still works fine but I’ll decide what to do with it later.

"Still celebrating"? I didn't realize that Christmas was at risk of being cancelled. I'm told that we should Christmas-shop early since supply chains are unreliable.

I have family coming for Thanksgiving this year, yippee! Of course last year everybody was hiding from the plague.

That was a joke. Yeah, we celebrated it last year, though on a much smaller scale. Normally I would have gotten my presents for my family in early December, but now it’s better to get it sorted out early.

We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in Ireland, but I’m glad your family are celebrating it again. Are you looking forward to it?

Yes, looking forward to it. Of course you don't celebrate Thanksgiving! But it is one of my favorite holidays!

Thanksgiving does sound like fun, not gonna lie. I don’t like Turkey personally, but I do like chicken and ham. We eat Turkey at Christmas, by the way.

Damn, that's harsh. Better get those maps updated.

I had kind of a crazy and awful week and was really looking forward to getting the house in order, going hiking, and reading a bunch. Found out first thing Friday morning that my in-laws were coming in a few hours and staying the whole weekend. 😐

How bad was your week? And how are your in-laws doing?

It was rotten. A friend died, so it’s been sad and not amazing. On top of that, I was traveling for work and got stranded due to weather, regular work is presently stressful, and I’ve been having some pretty rough migraines. I know grieving my friend is going to take a great deal of time, but I’m hoping the other stuff passes quickly.

The in-laws are doing pretty well. It’s been kind of a weird two years for all of us, but things seem to be looking up for them.

You’ve got your Christmas shopping done already?

Sorry to hear about your friend. It will take a lot of time to process it. Your friend may be gone, but the memories are still there.

Travelling for work is stressful. My cousin travels to London for work, and he prefers to work from home. I don’t blame him.

Migraines suck. I’ve never had them, but my sister did. She said they were horrible.

I’m glad you can see your in-laws again. Hopefully things will get back to normal.

Most of my Christmas shopping is done. I still have to buy a few more presents, but then I’m done. I want to get it done now and avoid the stress. Especially with all of the shortages.

Really sorry to hear about your friend :( hope you're feeling better today in regards to migraines. I get those too, they suck.
