Why was “gender identity” slipped into the 2,700 page, one trillion dollar infrastructure bill?

That's what they do everywhere. They know their shit won't stand on their own so they hide it in other legislation.

The fact that this is possible is an inherent failure in our government system. Along with modern lobbying and corporate "donations," I'd say this is treason

It's genuinely so bizarre to me. I feel like here it's almost the opposite, where laws won't pass because every little thing gets scrutinised, including how a law might get pushed through the houses or how it seeks to get implemented. So it's the wildest shit to me that in America it's basically the norm to slip things into a 2000 page bill and just shrug and say "Should have read it more carefully" when anyone calls you out on it
